Green Bean Casserole Recipe

This is a classic casserole. It is made with green beans and it has a creamy sauce underneath with a crispy topping. Normally it has cream of mushrooms and fried onions added in it. But this recipe is a modified version and it taste just yum.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 15 mins
Baking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Serves: 4


Ingredients:

Green Beans – 250 grams cut into long pieces
Butter – 3 tblspn
Onion – 1 medium size chopped finely
All Purpose flour / Maida – 1 tblspn
Milk – 1 cup
Cream Cheese – 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tsp
Pepper to taste
Breadcrumbs – 1/2 cup
Butter – 3 tblspn cut into cubes
Cheese – 1/4 cup grated

Method:

Preheat oven to 200 degree C.

Heat water in a sauce pan, add salt and bring it to a boil. Add green beans in and boil it for 2 mins. Now drain and set aside.

Heat butter in a pan, add onions and saute for a min. Add in flour and mix well. Add in milk and cream cheese and stir to mix.

Season with salt, sugar, pepper and mix well.

Now add in beans and toss well.

Spoon this into the baking pan, sprinkle top with breadcrumbs, and top with butter and cheese.

Bake this for 25 to 30 mins.

Serve hot.

cut it into this size
bring water to a boil
add salt
add beans in
cook for few mins
drain it
in the same pan, melt some butter
add onions
cook that for few mins
add flour
toss well
cook till raw smell leaves
add milk
add cream cheese
mix well
add salt and pepper
add little sugar
mix well
add beans in
mix well
spoon it into the baking pan
sprinkle breadcrumbs over it
top with butter
grate cheese over it
bake till done
