I made this just now and enjoyed a cup of cold chocolate milk. I am telling you, it is way much better than store bought. Plus you know what is going in your milk. And it is healthy drink for your kids who loves chocolate milk. Great as a after school drink.
The only thing you have to remember is, try to get the best quality cocoa powder you can afford. I have tried this with many brands of cocoa powder and loved the powder made with hersheys. I think it is the best. The milk can be made either with hot or cold milk as you prefer, but i like to enjoy it with cold milk.
Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Makes : 1/2 cup of powder

Ingredients:

For making powder:
Cocoa Powder – 1/4 cup (i used hersheys, use best quality)
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Salt -1/4 tsp

For making milk:
Milk (hot or cold as you prefer)
Hot Water – as needed
Method:
Take cocoa powder, sugar and salt in a mixer or food processor and blend it for few seconds till it is well combined. Now store this in a container.
For making chocolate milk. Take 1 to 2 tblspn of powder in a cup, add in couple tblspn of hot water and mix well, so the sugar and cocoa blends well.
Now top with either hot milk or cold milk. Mix well.
Serve.

Nesquik is fortified with vitamins and minerals. Homemade is only cocoa and sugar. You tell me which is better?

I am an anonymous reader , and felt like replying to your question .i would still Aarthi's version is better . You know what is inside it . Nesquik, or any drink store bought , we never know what is added . Though it have fortified minerals or vitamins , it might do more harm than good ., I am sure they would have added some ingredients to enhance the taste , color and any preservative .so obviously , this is better .
