Eggless Tutti Fruity Cookies – Valentine Special Recipes / Christmas Cookies Recipes

I had a huge container of tutti fruity lying in the fridge for the past one month, I was searching for a recipe to use that cookies..Finally I found a tutti fruity cookies recipe which was firing up in most of the food blogs..When I saw this post in lots of blogs, I got the confindence to try it out..

The cool thing about this cookies is it is eggless..The original recipe called for only regular maida, but I added corn flour  to make this cookies even more tasty. Amma and my sister’s loved this cookies, they didn’t keep even a single cookie for me to have a taste, this clearly shows how much they liked it..

I have some more tutti fruity too, I have planned to make eggless tutti fruity cake also..If you have any recipes using this please let me know..

I hope you will try this and tell me how it came out..

Slightly Adapted From: Sharmis Passion

All Purpose Flour / Maida – 125 gms / 1 cup / 4.5 ounces
Corn Flour / Corn Starch – 125 gms / 1 cup / 4.5 ounces
Butter -100 gms / 3.5 ounces / ½ cup
Sugar – 125 gms (Powdered) / 1 ¼ cup
Vanilla -1 tsp
Tutti Fruity – 100 gms / 2/3 cup / 3.5 ounces

Preheat the oven to 160 °C / 350° F. Line a tray with wax paper or foil and butter it lightly.

Add butter, sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl and beat till smooth and fluffy.

Add cornflour and maida in this and mix well.. Add tutti fruity and mix well.

Form into a round log and put it in a wax paper or plastic wrap and roll it. Twist the edges and put in the fridge for 30 mins or untill firm.

Now unwrap it and cut into thick slices..

Arrange it in the tray and bake it for 12 to 15 mins or untill light golden. Allow it to cool down and remove to a cooling rack.

When it is cooled completely store in air tight container.

Take all your ingrediants
Add butter to a bowl
and smoothen it out
and powdered sugar
and some vanilla
and cream it
add maida and corn flour
and mix well
add tutti fruity
and mix well
now take a sheet of wax paper..You could use foil or cling wrap
tranfer the dough in that
form into a log
cover it
and seal the sides
now chilli it
take it out of the fridge
and cut into slices
Take a tray and line it with wax paper
arrange this on the tray and bake it
all baked..
Now serve with a cup of milk
or store this in air tight containers..

Dear Aarthi, your cookies look really tasty! If you want a never-fail eggless cake recipe, my blog has one: for the basic recipe, just look up my post http://theyogivegetarian.blogspot.com/2010/12/more-comfort-foodyou-can-have-sponge.html
and you can add the tutti frutti in whatever quantity you think right. I avoid dairy products so I usually use soya milk and sunflower oil in my cakes but cows' milk and melted butter is yummy and makes a richer flavour and texture. Don't use ghee unless the cake has a strong flavour to hide it,such as chocolate Good luck with your cake... :)

No need of baking powder or baking soda?is it crunchy or munchy??? :-)

Aarthi said... Best Blogger Tips

@aarthi dhanrajno u dont need any rising agent. this cookies just melts in mouth..

Janani Gunasekaran said... Best Blogger Tips

Hi aarthi I made these cookies sday... The corners of the Cookies were nice crispy and golden brown in colour but the middle part of the cookie is not crispy... Please let me know where I went wrong

Aarthi said... Best Blogger Tips

@Janani GunasekaranIt is because of uneven baking. You can rotate the tray half time of the cooking. so it will bake evenly

Anonymous said... Best Blogger Tips

Hi arthi..what is the purpose of adding corn flour? What taste wil it give? Wont the cookie be chewy?

Aarthi said... Best Blogger Tips

@Anonymouscornflour makes gives the melt in mouth textures

shwetha shenoy said... Best Blogger Tips

I tried this yesterday.. it just melted in mouth and was better than store bought... Thank you

Anonymous said... Best Blogger Tips

Is it mandatory to cover the dough with wax paper or foil ? what is the purpose of that? Just for my curiosity :)

Also how many cookies does this make?

Aarthi said... Best Blogger Tips

@Anonymousit holds it well

shikha pilania said... Best Blogger Tips

Hey aarthi i baked tooti frooti cookie today...first of all accirding to all the ingredients and measurement i tried to make my dough but it became powdery then i had to add milk in it...after adding milk dough became perfect but when i baked it the base of cookie remained unbaked altough i baked it for more than 30mins. Where did i go wrong

Aarthi said... Best Blogger Tips

@shikha pilaniai think the addition of milk is the mistake
