Microwave Mocha Mug Cake Recipe / Microwave Coffee Cake Recipe

I am in a microwave baking mode, i am totally loving it..Because it is so much fun to make and cook in microwave, more than that the result can be enjoyed in few minutes..So far in my microwave baking series, i have made a chocolate cake, nutella mug cake, vanilla cake, oreo cake, black forest cake and many more..

Now this has added to my list. This one is really for a coffee addict..Person who loves coffee and chocolate together, because they both are a marriage made in heaven..

This cake took me 1.5 mins to make and the end result was so fluffy, moist and delicious..You have to try it to see the result..

  12. Can you substitute baking soda with baking powder? If not what difference will it make? Also is meetha soda the same as baking soda? Thx ...too many querries:)

    ReplyDelete
  13. @AnonymousNo you cannot substitute. Baking powder will make the cake rise too much. Baking soda should be used. Yes meetha soda is called as baking soda.

  28. @AnonymousI think u cannot whip thaose cream. Haven't tried it so far. But if u want to whip them, first whip them till it gets thick, once it gets thick lightly, add in some icing sugar and whip till stiff.

  30. Thought I'd let you know that since I didn't have instant coffee while making this, I replaced the water/milk with actual coffee and it turned out fantastic! The coffee taste isn't too strong and it tastes very fresh. You should try it out!

  31. I was suddenly craving fr something chocolaty n came across this recipe n it was so simple n I made it in a jiffy... Like someone had commented, I substituted 2tbsp milk with 2tbsp freshly brewed coffee n it turned out heavenly... It made me melt... One of the best microwave cakes I'd ever tasted.. Half of it I topped with buttercream frosting n half I topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream... I'm going crazy here over this cake... Thank you so much fr the wonderful recipe..

  34. Can we use wheat flour instead of maida
I tried the cake 4 times n it became hard every time after 15 minutes....as hard as a cookie

  35. @Anonymousi think u have over cooked it. Try reducing the cooking time.

    ReplyDelete
  36. What?? It erupted out in just half a minute :-(

  37. I just made this today. I think it is even better than the Nutella recipe I have tried before. Mine also took less than 2 minutes (1 min 45 sec). This definitely needs a tall mug since it bubbles up while baking! I happened to have coconut oil which was extra yummy. Thanks for a great recipe! I always look forward to your updates here in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

  38. I tried this recipe today. The taste was amazing. It was super yummy. I had one problem though. I microwaved it for 1 min 30 secs only but it came out in a biscuit form. Any idea why it could have happened. I didn't have baking soda and hence used baking powder. Will that make any difference?

  39. @Haritha Bolisettyeach microwave varies, so mcrowave it less next time. And dont sub baking soda with baking powder. Because they both are different

    ReplyDelete
  40. Superhit!! Thanks a lot for the recipe.

  41. Amazing simple recipe! I just kept it for 1 min 10 secs...it was a little hard...wat would be the reason?

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Anonymousi think then u have to reduce the timing

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Aarthi Hi Aarthi, I substituted baking soda with baking powder (for 1/4 tsp of soda, added 1/2 tsp of powder) and it came out equally good. It had the same texture and was just ready in 1 min 30 sec!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hi Aarthi, Thank you for the simple recipe. Do you think we need a pinch of salt just to cut thru' the sweetness of sugar + choc? I tried the recipe once but found it overly sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  45. @Anonymousu can reduce the sugar and add pinch of salt

    ReplyDelete
