Jangri Recipe - Easy Jhangri Recipe


Jangri was on my to do list for a long time. Finally made it and it turned out to be perfect. Here you go to the recipe.

Here are the tips for making jangri,

1)Make sure the batter is thick, if it is too thick. add in some rice flour and mix well.
2)When frying jangri, make sure the oil is not that too hot. Make sure the oil is medium heat.
3)Use ziploc bag for making jangri.
4)Fry till jangri is crispy so it taste delicious.

Preparation Time : 15 mins
Soaking Time : 6 hours
Cooking Time : 2 mins
Makes: 20 jangri

Ingredients:


For Batter:

White Whole Urad dal - 3/4 cup
Rice Flour - 1 tblspn (if needed)
Food Colour a pinch
Salt a pinch
Water as needed
Oil for deep frying

For Sugar Syrup:
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Food Colour a pinch

Method:

Soak urad dal for 3 to 4 hours, drain and take it in a blender, add water very little at a time and make it into a thick paste.

Take it in a bowl. If the batter is thick, add some rice flour to it.Mix well. Add salt and food colour and mix well.

Now take sugar and water in a sauce pan, and bring it to a boil, cook till it gets sticky, add cardamom and lemon juice and food colour and mix well.

Now take a piping bag and cut a small hole in the tip. Fill with the filling.

Now heat oil for deep frying in a flat bottom pan and make jangri shape.

Now fry till crispy on both sides.

Drain and add it in sugar syrup. Soak for a min on each side.

Remove to a plate and serve warm.

the batter has to be thick


if it is thin, add some rice flour and mix well..Set this aside


take sugar in a wide pan


add water


mix well and bring it to a simmer 


add food colour


bring it to a boil


cook till it thickens


add cardamom powder


add lemon juice and mix well..set aside


take a ziploc bag and make a hole in the center or in the side of it


fill with batter


i found it easy if you make hole in the corner of the ziploc bag..


u can try making jangri in a plate or directly over oil


now lets fry in oil...Make sure the oil is on medium heat


first circle first
make circles over the large circle


make like this













fry till crispy


drain and add it to syrup


soak till done


soak for a min on both side


serve


serve
