Nice table cloth! I like really the polka dots.
The mug cake series might be great for people who have a microwave - it really is a time-saver, perfect for a quick snack. Alas, I do not have a microwave, so I wouldn't be able to make them 🙁

Hi, I tried your recipe today and all was fine except that the outer crust became a little too hard. What should I have done to avoid that ?
Aarthi
@InduI think you must have cooked it longer. Each microwave vary in heat, so next time cook it for little less time.

If this is a microave recipe, then why did u say that u have to bake it? I have an oven, so should I bake it for 2 minutes in the oven, or 2 minutes in microwave?
Aarthi
@AnonymousSorry that is a typo. you have to cook it in microwave for 2 min
Vidhi Madan
Hi.. can I replace maida with wheat aata to make it more healthy? ?
Anonymous
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I do not have a microwave. If I use OTG (Oven-toaster-griller), how many minutes do I bake it for and at what temperature?
Thanks!!
Pooja 🙂
Aarthi
@Anonymous I am not sure, but i think you can bake it...bake it at 180 degree C for 10 to 15 mins..Check and if it is not baked, bake for 5 more mins..

Ankita Shreeram
1. Can I add eggs to this recipe? If so, at what step?
2. Can I use melted chocolate instead of cocoa? It's easier for me to find dark chocolate slabs than cocoa.
3. Can I mix wheat flour and maida instead of using only maida?
4. Can I use nuts/fruits as topping rather than nutella?
Aarthi
@Ankita ShreeramThis recipe is a perfect one, if u modify it it do affect the taste and texture.

@Aarthi : Thanks a lot for the recipe.. I tried it and it came out yummmilicious 😀 I ran out of milk so I used sweetened condensed milk with some warm water and no sugar at all in the initially, still it turned out to be quite delicious.. Thanks!!
Anonymous
I'm eating it right now. And it came out perfect. I added just 1tbsp of brown sugar, and batter tasted much better. Also I didnt have nutella or chocolate chips, so i substituted them for Hershe's spread and mini m&m's. And since batter was sweeter, i used veery little Hersheys

Anagha
Hi . I read this at 9:35 pm , made this at 9:45 pm and the kids gulped it down by 9:50pm . it was so fast and yummy!!! Thanx a lot.
solai
Arthi your food blog is just great. Tried pineapple upside down and a few more recipes too. They turned out very well. I have 2 questions. The basic rule in baking is powder us sugar and split ur eggs into yolk and whites and beat them separately..but you don't seem to follow these as shown in your pictures.is it OK to use sugar as it is and eggs beaten together?
My next question is I have a lot of brown sugar in my hand..bought for the pineapple upside down recipe. Do u have any other recipe using this brown sugar? Thank you
Aarthi
@solaii dont normal powder my sugar. but if you want u can use that as well..it results in more even creaming. And beating eggs yolk and white separately is not needed for all cakes. And you can use brown sugar in my muffin recipes
Betsy
Hi Aarthi..this looks delicious!! Could you tell me where you purchased the chocolate chips from?
Aarthi
@Betsyi got it from my super market lynns. U can look online
Beena Sujay
The receipe looks yum...Thanks for sharing it aarthi...I have an otg...so which bowl can I use ....
Aarthi
@Beena Sujaythis cannot be made in OTG. it has to be done in microwave normal cooking mode. And for baking cakes in OTG you can use aluminum, silicone, nonstick
Shalini and Malini
Very very tasty...wish I cud post a pic .It came out yum yum.
Akshatha
Hi,
I love that the recipe has no eggs. I have a question regarding baking powder, can that be substituted with baking soda?
TIA
Akshatha
Aarthi
@Akshathano u cannot sub the baking agents
Akshata
Hi.. This is Akshata.. I tried your recipie and it has come out supererb.. Its just instead of nuttela I added chocolate syrup.. Is it necessary to add Chico chips any substitute for it??
And thanks once again for your recipie it was just a tasty one
Akshata Ramesh
Should I keep the cake in the fridge after its cooked to cool n set it??.. Cause its little stick and too hot after its cooked..
Aarthi
@Akshata Rameshno need to put it in fridge.
Aarthi
@Akshatau can use nuts instead of chips too
