Aloo Tamatar Recipe

Aloo Tamatar Curry is a simple yet delicious curry made using boiled potatoes and tomatoes. This curry has a lovely flavour of cumin and garam masala powder.

  1. Instead of baby potatoes, use normal potatoes and cut them into cubes.
  2. You can use chopped onions and ginger garlic paste.
  3. Add in green peas along with potatoes.
  4. Use mustard oil instead of oil.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 2 piece Green chillies finely chopped
  • 2 large Tomatoes pureed
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • Salt
  • 10 Baby Potatoes boiled
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a kadai.
  • Add in cumin seeds, green chillies, ginger paste and cook for a minute.
  • Add in tomato puree and cook till it is cooked. Cook for 5 mins.
  • Add in spice powders, salt, sugar and cook till the masala leaves the pan.
  • Add in water and bring it to a boil.
  • Add in boiled baby potatoes and mix well.
  • Simmer for 10 mins.
  • Add coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Serve.

4)Saute for a min.

5) Add in tomato puree.

6)Cook till 5 mins.

7)Cover and cook.

8)Cook till tomatoes is cooked.

9)Add in chilli powder

10)Add in cumin powder.

11)Saute for 2 mins.

12)Add in salt.

13)Add in sugar

14)Mix well

15)Add water

16)Mix well

17)Add in garam masala powder

18)Add in boiled potatoes

19)Simmer for 3 mins or so.

20)Cover and cook.

21)Add in coriander leaves.

22)Serve.
