    • Besan | gram flour is one of the most important ingredient in this ladoo.
    • Sugar. Of course it is a sweet so you need a good amount of sweetness.
    • Ghee. Try to use good quality ghee for the aroma and taste.
    • Nuts. Mixture of fried nuts adds good crunch.

This ladoo is so easy to make, but taste so healthy and yummy. I love the colour which was in the ladoo without adding any food colouring. I love those crunchy bits of cashew in between these ladoos. I hope you will try it this diwali and let me know how it turned out.

    Pro Tips

    • Roasting besan is very important. Take your time and roast it on very low heat.
    • Constant stirring of besan when roasting is very important.
    • Use fine powdered sugar for better texture of besan ladoo.
    • Cool down the besan mix before adding sugar. Else the sugar may melt in the heat.

When you say 'powdered sugar' do you mean 'icing sugar' the finely ground white sugar which usually has cornstarch in it?

      Reply
    10. Aarthi

@a-boleynNo it is normal sugar which has been powdered

@AnonymousMay be you must have added too much ghee. Roast more gram flour and add it in, add more sugar if needed.

I tried to make besan laddoo following Manjula aunty's recipe. After the stirring of besan , I cooled it down and added powdered sugar which made it really grainy because the sugar didnt melt. I tried to heat the mixture again so that sugar melts but it didnt work and was spoiled. How can I avoid this problem ? I really want to make it but I fear that this may happen again.
