About Diwali
Diwali | Deepavali or Divali; related to Jain Diwali, Bandi Chhor is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists. The festival usually lasts five days and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November). The festival is widely associated with Lakshmi, goddess of prosperity, with many other regional traditions.

Murukku | Muruku | Chakli Recipes
Murukku or chakli is a crunchy deep fried snack uually made with urad dal flour, rice flour. sooji, oats or gram flour too.

Diwali is one of the popular hindu festival celebrated on the month of october-november. It is also known as festival of lights.
2)What is diwali legiyam and what are its benefits?
Diwali legiyam is consumed to aid digestion. It is made using ginger, pepper, jaggery, fennel seeds.

Our Diwali Tradition
It starts the previous day. We place new clothes bought in pooja room. Pooja room is cleaned. The porch of the house is cleaned, washed and decorated with colourful rangolis.
The diwali day starts very early around 3 in the morning. We buy chicken | mutton to cook for diwali.
No Tamil Deepavali is complete without the ritualistic early morning oil bath where the eldest member of the family or the lady of the house apply warm gingelly oil on the head. While the oil soaks into the body, kids play outside with crackers.
Meanwhile the lady of the house finish cooking the breakfast. Diwali breakfast is filled with varieties of pakora, bajji, chicken curry, mutton dishes, idlies served with side accompaniment of chutney, curries and sambar.
No diwali is complete without a good movie. If it is for newly married couple then the diwali dhamaka gets doubled because it is their thala deepavali.
Diwali memories gets added each year and it have to cherished for life time.
