I have been seeing this corn cheese recipe all over the Internet for a very long time. Finally decided to try a couple of days back. This version of corn cheese is very basic and simple. All you need is few ingredients which you might already have on hand. I have shared the variation which you can make to this recipe in this blog post.

Korean corn cheese recipe is a popular Korean bar snack which is served all over Korea. This is basically a street food recipe and it is quick to make. The combination of creamy corn to the cheese taste absolutely delicious. You can serve this as it is or with toasted bread and any cold beverage of your choice.
The ingredients used in this corn cheese is very basic. But you can adjust it totally to your taste preferences.

How to Make Corn Cheese Recipe
Preparing Sweet corn mixture
Heat a skillet on high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt. To the butter add in chopped onions and sauté for two minutes. Add in sweetcorn kernels and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes. Add in salt, pepper and sugar and mix well. Remove this to a bowl and set aside.
Creamy Corn
Now to the sweet corn add in mayonnaise and half cup of mozzarella cheese. Mix it really well.
How to Assemble corn cheese
Now take your sizzler plate. Put it on flame and heat it on medium heat. Melt some butter on the sizzle plate and spread evenly. Add in the corn mixture and spread. Top it with remaining mozzarella cheese.
Broiling | Grilling
Preheat your oven to broil | grill mode at 250 degree C. Place your sizzle plate under the broiler and cook for 2 to 4 mins till the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Serving corn cheese
Remove it carefully from oven and place it on the wooden serving dish of the sizzler plate and serve hot.

Bell peppers | capsicum
Bell peppers add peppery flavour and slight crunchiness. Mostly it adds colour to the corn and cheese. You can use red, yellow or green peppers.
Green Chilli pepper
Finely chopped green chilli peppers are used for their spicy kick. Since corn cheese are mildly flavoured you can add chillies for spicy kick.
Rice cakes | Tteokbokki
Rice cakes or tteokbokki are added on top of the corn cheese along with mozzarella cheese for their chewiness.

Corn Cheese | Korean Corn Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Butter + 1 tsp

Stove Top Corn Cheese Recipe
- Heat a small skillet on high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt.
- To the butter add in chopped onions and sauté for two minutes. Add in sweetcorn kernels and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes. Add in salt, pepper and sugar and mix well.
- Remove this to a bowl and add in mayonnaise and half cup of mozzarella cheese. Mix it really well.
- Spoon this back into the pan which you were cooking the corn.
- Spread the corn mix evenly in the pan.
- Put it on heat again and sprinkle with extra mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook on medium high heat for 5 mins till cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve the corn cheese right from the pan.
Tips & Tricks
- You can use fresh sweet corn and remove the kernels by yourselves.
- Canned corn or frozen sweet corn can be used as well.
- Adding finely chopped garlic, bell peppers, rice cakes, green chilli pepper increases the taste.
- If you prefer more creamy corn and cheese, add extra mayonnaise and cheese.
- Don’t have an oven, you can make the corn cheese entirely on stove top. I have added instructions in this blog post.
- Add as much cheese as needed.
- You can sprinkle the top with dried parsley or fresh parsley as needed.
- Any seasoning of your choice can be added in this corn cheese.
