    Gingerbread Cookies Recipe

    Delicious gingerbread cookies with step by step pictures. These are perfect for christmas and fun to decorate with kids.

    Gingerbread Cookies

    Gingerbread cookies is one recipe which i wanted to bake for a long time. Finally made this year and it was so much fun making them and decorating time. I just went for a plain white icing and nothing fancy. You can take your own time and decorate it as you like.

    I am sure this will be fun recipe for you to bake with your kids. They will look making it and decorating it. 

    Ingredients for Gingerbread

    All Purpose Flour / Maida 
    Brown Sugar or Demerrara Sugar
    Honey 
    Unsalted Soft Butter
    Baking Powder & Baking Soda
    Ginger Powder, Cinnamon Powder, Cloves Powder, Nutmeg Powder

    Gingerbread Cookies Preparation

    • Take butter, brown sugar, honey in a bowl and whisk well till creamy.
    • Add in baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices and whisk well.
    • Now add in flour and shape it into a dough.
    • Wrap it in cling wrap and chill in fridge for at least 1 to 2 hours. Preheat oven to 180 degree C / 360 degree F.
    • Now roll this between two sheets of plastic wrap and cut using gingerbread shape cutter.
    • Arrange it in a baking pan which is lined with parchment paper.
    • Bake for 10 mins.
    • Now remove from oven and cool completely.
    • Now make icing, take icing sugar and milk in a bowl and whisk till thick and creamy. Pour this in a ziploc bag and snip off the edge. Decorate the cookie as you like and decorate with sugar silver balls.
    • Enjoy.

    Ingredients
      

    For Cookies:

    • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 cup + ¼ cup 150 grams
    • Brown Sugar or Demerrara Sugar - ¼ cup powdered 50 grams
    • Honey - ¼ cup 60 ml
    • Unsalted Soft Butter - ¼ cup 50 grams
    • Baking Powder - ½ tsp
    • Baking Soda / Cooking Soda - ½ tsp
    • Salt - ¼ tsp
    • Ginger Powder - 1 tsp
    • Cinnamon Powder - 1 tsp
    • Cloves Powder - ¼ tsp
    • Nutmeg Powder - ¼ tsp

    For Icing:

    • Icing Sugar - ½ cup
    • Milk - 2 to 3 tsp

    Instructions
