Some weeks back, i was in cookies baking mood. I have mentioned you this before. And believe it or not i have made 7 cookies recipe including this one. And each one turned out to be so good. Thank god i have taken step by step pictures of them. So no worries. I have a habit, i take step by step picture of all the recipe and dishes i make, even it was the first time i try them. If they comes out good i will post it here, if not i delete them..And i do try them again with different measurements to make them perfect..

Now coming back to this recipe. The one thing which i could tell you about this cookies are D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S. I still couldn’t believe that a cookie with just a minimum ingredient taste so yummy. These cookies just melts in your mouth. I know that you can gonna try this cookies immediately, because you already have all the stuff on hand..So try it and let me know how it turns out..

Check out My 5 Ingredient Butter Cookies Recipe & 4 Ingredient Oats Cookies Recipe too..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 15 to 17 mins
Makes : 20 cookies

Ingredients:

All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1 cup / 120 grams
Ghee / Clarified Butter – 1/2 cup / 125 ml melted
Sugar – 1/4 cup / 50 grams Powdered ( use as per your taste )
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp ( Optional )

(Tip: Easy way to measure is using the same cup to measure all the ingredients)

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 Degree C / 360 Degree F.

Take melted in a bowl. Add in powdered sugar, salt and vanilla. Mix this well so everything is combined.

Now add in the flour and mix well to form into a soft dough.

Take a spoonful of portion and shape into ball.

Arrange this in a foil lined tray. They can be place pretty close before it wont spread a lot.

Now bake this for 15 to 17 mins till the cookies is done. Remove them from oven and allow to cool down.

Once they are cooled store them in air tight container.

Enjoy with a cup of chai or milk.

Notes:

1) If the dough looks too dry, add a tsp of milk. Dont add too much.
2) This cookies may look soft when you take out of the oven. But as they cools down they get harder.
3) Cool them completely before storing them in air tight container.
4) Instead of adding ghee you can add melted butter.
5) If you like cardamom flavour, skip vanilla and add cardamom powder.
6)You can add chopped nuts into the mixture too.

Pictorial:

Take all your ingredients
Take ghee in a bowl
Add in powdered sugar
Add in vanilla essence
Add a pinch of salt
Mix well
Add in flour
Make into  a soft dough
Take small portion from it
Shape into a ball
All done
Arrange in the baking tray
bake them
Enjoy these melt in mouth cookies

    Hi Aarthi,

I am a great fan of your blog "yummy tummy" and have tried some of your receipes which turned out well.

In this receipe, you have mentioned ""Now bake this for 15 to 17 mins till the cookies is done"

Since I am new to baking, please clarify if I have to preheat the oven to a certain temperature and then set the timer. I am having Samsung microwave oven.

Please elaborate . Thanks for your time.

    Hi Aarthi,

I am the latest follower of your site. I prepared most of the Diwali delicacies following your recipes and all turned great !!!! Thanks for the lovely recipes.

The ghee cookies are called Narayan Katar in Mangalore. I would love to prepare this but I want to use a normal microwave. Is this possible?

    Thanks,
    Anuradha

I was craving some crunchy cookies, so I made them today. The dough was fun to roll – so soft to touch and completely non-sticky. But my cookies did spread in the oven – they were big and flat at the end. Maybe the dough needed more flour? I wish they were round and plump, like yours. Still delicious, though.
