Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 10 to 12 mins
Makes : 12 cookies
Recipe Source: Pinchofyum

Ingredients:

Unsalted Soft Butter – 110 grams melted / 8 tblspn
Granulated Sugar – 1/2 cup / 100 grams
Brown Sugar / Jaggery – 1/4 cup / 50 grams
Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp
Egg – 1

Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1/4 tsp
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1 1/2 cup / 180 grams
Chocolate Chips – 1 cup

(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)

Method:

Preheat oven to 180 degree C.

Take melted butter, brown sugar and normal sugar in a bowl. Add in vanilla and whisk well.

Now add in eggs and whisk well.

Add in flour, baking soda and salt and mix well. Add in chocolate chips and mix well.

Divide the dough into 12 portions and roll it out. Place it in a baking tray and flatten it lightly.

Now pop this in oven and bake for 10 to 12 mins.

Now remove it and let it cool for 10 mins.

Now remove this to a cooling rack and cool completely.

Serve with milk.

Pictorial:
Take all your ingredients
Take butter in a sauce pan
Melt it gently
Pour it into a bowl and cool it
add in sugar and brown sugar
add in vanilla
whisk well
add in egg
whisk well
add in flour
add in salt
add in baking soda
mix well
shape it into a soft dough
add in chocolate chips
mix well
use a icecream scoop to scoop out dough
now roll this out
roll it into a smooth ball
place it in a baking sheet
now bake them
I didn’t flatten my cookies out, so it was puffing up..
So i took it out of oven after 10 mins and flattened it lightly using a cup
now it is flattened..pop this back in oven for another 3 mins
Now it is done
The top and bottom are crispy and inside is soft..
Enjoy with a cup of milk

Is it ok to use salted butter in a recipe that calls for unsalted? Should I alter other ingredients?
