Chicken Curry Recipe – Kozhi Kuzhambu Recipe – VIDEO RECIPE

Chicken curry is a basic recipe and this one is really tasty. I love it so much. And i make it quite often too. I decided to make a video post of it, hope you will enjoy it. Please give this a try and subscribe to my youtube channel.

CHICKEN CURRY IN ENGLISH:


CHICKEN CURRY IN TAMIL:

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 1  hour 
Serves – 3 to 4
Ingredients:
Chicken – 500 grams / 1/2 kg
Oil – 2 tblspn + 2 tblspn
Cinnamon / Pattai – 1 small piece
Fennel Seeds / Sombu – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tsp
Cardamom / Yelakai – 4
Cloves / Krambu – 4
Onion – 2 large sliced
Ginger – 3 cm piece chopped
Garlic – 6 peeled
Tomatoes – 4 large chopped
Curry leaves –  a handful
Salt to taste
Chilli Powder – 1 tblspn
Coriander Powder – 2.5 tblspn
Turmeric powder / Manjal podi – 1 tsp + 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tblspn
Coconut – 1 cup
Water as needed
Coriander Leaves / Cilantro for garnishing 
Method:
Take chicken, salt
and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistle. Set aside.
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in all whole spices and saute
them.
Add in onions, ginger, garlic and saute this for 5
mins till it gets golden
Now add in Ginger and Garlic and saute for a min.
Add in tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy.
Add in coconut and stir for 5 mins.
Cool this down. Take it in a blender and puree till
smooth.
Now heat some more oil in the same pan, add in the
masala, spice powders and mix well.
Add in curry leaves and mix well.
Add in cooked chicken, more water and garam masala
powder. Bring it to a boil and simmer for 5 to 8 mins.

Now the oil will float on top. Garnish with coriander
leaves and mix well.
Serve with rice.

    do we add water to chicken while pressure cooking?
