About Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
Chocolate chip banana bread is a super moist and delicious cake / bread made with banana, buttermilk, eggs, brown sugar and mashed bananas, flour and chocolate chips. This bread makes a great breakfast or tea time option.
This banana bread has eggs in them and frankly I loved this version more than anything else. It turned out so soft, moist and delicious even though it takes 1 hour of baking.
I like to purée banana and use in the bread instead of chopping or mashing. Banana purée disperse evenly all over the bread with intense banana flavour. Buttermilk along with banana purée makes the cake super moist. I used chocolate chips in the bread, you can use chopped chocolate as well.

Ripe banana - The main ingredients used for creating banana bread is bananas. Ensure to use over ripe bananas. The skins of the banana will develop freckles and the fruits are just a touch too mushy, which makes it perfect for banana bread.
Unsalted butter - Some banana bread recipes use oil, but butter works best in this recipe. It also provides more flavor than using just oil. Unsalted Butter control the amount of salt that’s added.
Sugar - a combination of brown sugar and white sugar is added which makes the bread has an amazing caramel like flavour.
Eggs - this recipe uses eggs which not only adds soft texture, but makes the bread light and spongy. It also helps with the texture of the bread.
Raising agent - Baking soda and baking powder is used in this recipe which help this bread rise as it bakes.
Wheat flour - for healthy alternative I used wheat flour in this banana bread. You can all purpose flour for even more texture.
Buttermilk - buttermilk is the best choice, but you can use a mixture of yogurt and milk.
Vanilla - Vanilla's effect in baked goods is similar to that of salt in savoury baked goods: it enhances the flavour of the baked goods.
Chocolate chips - Add dark or milk chocolate chip for delicious bite. I used semi sweet chocolate chips.
