    Self Saucing Chocolate Pudding

Pudding cake is one of my all time favorite. I love the moist and chocolate rich pudding cake with its own rich chocolate sauce. This taste amazing when served warm with a scoop of cool vanilla ice cream.

The cake is so moist and gooey. The whole point is the cake is baked till it is so moist and has a syrup like sauce underneath which creates a sticky sauce.

I made this pudding just now and served it with cold ice cream..I should tell you this..It tasted awesome..Each mouthful just gave me the wonderful flavour of chocolate and rich coffee. If you are a coffee lover like me then you will love it.

This is a pretty simple recipe but has a very strong coffee flavour. I was planning to make this pudding for a week but somehow it didn’t happen that easily. I was a bit worried because of the delay. Even had dreams about making this dish..He He.. And finally I made it today..YAY..

    • Flour – 1 cup / 110 gm
    • Sugar – ½ cup / 100 gm
    • Baking powder-2 tsp
    • Cocoa -2 tsp
    • Butter-2 tblspn melted
    • Milk – ½ cup / 120 ml
    • Cashews / Walnuts / Almonds -3 tblspn
    • Egg-1 ( Substitute for Egg = 1 tblspn thick Curd/Yoghurt )
    • Salt a pinch

    For the Topping Sauce:

    • Sugar- ½ cup / 100 gm
    • Cocoa -3 tblspn
    • Black Coffee – 1 cup / 120 ml ( 2 tblspn instant coffee mixed with 1 cup of hot water)

    Preparation

    • Preheat the oven to 180°C / 360°F.
    • Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa together.
    • In a mixing bowl add sugar, butter, milk, egg and mix well.
    • Now add the dry ingredients over the wet ingredients and mix well.
    • Add in cashews and mix well.
    • Pour this in little ramekins or any buttered dish.
    • Now mix all the sauce ingredients together and pour over the batter.
    • Bake it the oven for 20 mins..Remove this and let it cool for a min.
    • Serve it hot with a scoop of ice cream or fresh cream.

hi, I have a recpie and the quantities i have for the same recipe is the same as yours except for the timing -- mine says 40 mins and you say 20 mins , becoz I do not want to open the oven after 20mins incase it is not cooked s,.pl let me know.
Should the pudding be fan forced or on regular bake?
one more thing, mine says, I can sprinkle the cocoa and sugar at the bottom, top with batter and then pour the hot water on top -- seems ok to me but I am confused as I am doing it for the first time Can u help? I really want to make this one.

U can bake it in normal bake. dont change anything, the cocoa and sugar should be in the top so it bakes properly
