Mango Yogurt Popsicles are everything you want on a hot summer day – creamy, fruity, and refreshingly cold. These little icy delights are made with the goodness of ripe, juicy mangoes, thick yogurt, a splash of lemon juice, and just the right hint of sweetness. They’re not only bursting with tropical flavor but are also a much healthier alternative to those sugar-loaded store-bought popsicles, especially for kids who crave cool treats in the heat!

What I love most is how simple they are to make. No fancy equipment, no cooking — just blend, layer, freeze, and enjoy. You know exactly what’s going into your kids’ snacks and can feel good about every bite. It’s summer, in popsicle form — and trust me, one is never enough.

    Mango Yogurt popsicles Recipe

Mango Yogurt Popsicles is a delicious summer treat made using mangoes and yogurt. It is super easy to put together and taste just amazing. Mangoes are in season right now, so make use of this delicious fruit and create this wonderful desert.

Maha has started enjoying popsicles now, so am trying to make popsicles using different fruits which makes including fruits into your kids diet a breeze.

    About Mango Yogurt Popsicles

Mango Yogurt Popsicles are one of those simple summer recipes that instantly put a smile on your face. There’s something about the combination of mango and yogurt that makes it both indulgent and refreshing.

These popsicles are made using ripe mangoes (Alphonso or Banganapalli work best), blended into a smooth puree with a bit of sugar and lemon juice to enhance their natural flavor. The second layer is made of creamy yogurt whisked with sugar or honey to balance out the tang. When layered and frozen, the result is a creamy, fruity, slightly tangy popsicle that's both nutritious and absolutely delightful.

The best part? You can easily tweak the sweetness, use Greek yogurt for more creaminess, or even skip the sugar altogether if your mangoes are sweet enough. It’s a freezer-friendly recipe and a great way to sneak fruits into your child’s diet!

    Why This Recipe Works

Two Layers of Joy in Every Bite: The mango puree paired with tangy, creamy yogurt creates a beautiful contrast, it’s like eating two desserts in one! The layers don’t just look pretty, they add flavor depth that makes each bite exciting and refreshing.

Wholesome and Clean Ingredients: This isn’t just any popsicle. It’s made with real ripe mangoes and thick, creamy yogurt and no artificial colors and no preservatives. Just fresh, clean, good for you ingredients.

My Childhood Memories with Mangoes -  Honestly, this one takes me straight back to my childhood. My mom used to freeze mango pulp with just a little milk and sugar in ice trays and call them “homemade mango bars.” I used to wait by the freezer impatiently! Now as a grown-up, I like to add yogurt for a creamy texture and that little tangy note. Mangoes are my comfort fruit; every summer, our home would be filled with boxes of mangoes, and we'd use them in everything from milkshakes to salads to desserts. Now, seeing my little ones (Maha and Mahi) enjoy these popsicles like I used to is a full-circle moment. It’s become our family summer ritual to try new flavors every week, and these mango yogurt ones are an all-time favorite.

Kid-Approved, Adult-Loved: Kids adore the bright colors and ice-cream-like texture, and adults love that it’s not too sweet or heavy. It’s one of those rare treats that works perfectly for both lunchbox surprises and weekend brunch desserts.

Endlessly Customizable: Whether you want to swirl the layers instead of stacking them, swap in coconut yogurt for a vegan twist, or drizzle in honey or jaggery syrup for a different kind of sweetness, this recipe bends to your taste.

    Ingredients

Ripe mango — Choose something sweet and juicy like Alphonso or Banganapalli. Peel the skin, chop it roughly, and blend it into a smooth, golden puree. This is the heart of your popsicle.

Thick yogurt — Full-fat curd works well, but if you want a rich, creamy result, Greek yogurt is the way to go. If your curd is a little watery, no stress — just tie it up in a muslin cloth and hang it for about an hour to let the extra water drip away. You'll get thick yogurt, just right for freezing.

Lemon juice — It may sound small, but this little addition lifts up the mango flavor beautifully and gives that slight tang that keeps the sweetness in check.

Sugar — Totally depends on your mango’s mood. If it’s super sweet, you might not need much at all. I sometimes use honey in the yogurt — it adds a soft note that feels so mellow and nice.

    Hacks

    – No popsicle moulds? No problem at all! Just grab some small paper cups (even tea tumblers work!), fill them up, cover the tops with foil, and poke a popsicle stick through the center. It sets just as well, and sometimes even unmoulds easier!

    – Need it creamier and more filling? Swap regular yogurt for Greek yogurt. It gives your popsicles a thick, velvety texture and a protein boost, perfect for a mid-day snack that actually keeps you full.

    – Want extra mango punch? Stir in a few spoonfuls of finely chopped mango pieces into the moulds before freezing. It gives a fun, fruity bite in between the creamy layers and makes it feel even more like a treat.

    – No mood for layers? Go for a beautiful swirl! After adding the mango and yogurt to the mould, give it a little stir with a spoon or stick, not too much and you’ll end up with a marbled, artsy popsicle that’s just as tasty.

How to Make Mango Yogurt Popsicle (Stepwise Pictues)

1)Take mangoes in a blender, try to use ripe mangoes. Peel the skin off the mangoes and chop it roughly and add it in.

2)Add in sugar to the mangoes

3)Add in lemon juice, which adds a nice tangy taste to it.

4)Puree till smooth. If you have alphonso mangoes it is great, since it adds nice colour to your popsicles

5)Take yogurt in a bowl, try to use thick greek style yogurt. If you have plain yogurt just drain it in some muslin cloth to drain off excess water.

6)Add in sugar to taste, you can use honey instead of mangoes

7)Mix well so the sugar is melted in the yogurt.

8)Take your popsicle moulds. If you dont have the moulds, you can use normal cups.

9)Fill half way with the mix. I use some mango pulp in few moulds and some yogurt mix in few.

10)Now fill the other half with alternating mix. So you get both the mix in each popsicles

11)Cover the moulds with lid and freeze for 7 to 8 hours. It is best to leave overnight.

    12) When you want to unmould it, run some tap water over the moulds for few mins and unmould carefully and serve immediately.

    Expert Tips

Don’t skip the lemon juice! It might seem small, but it seriously makes the mango pop and keeps things from getting too sweet or flat-tasting.

Got icy popsicles? That’s usually because there’s too much water in your mix. Use thick yogurt (Greek-style or hung curd) and fully ripe mangoes — both help give you that dreamy creamy texture.

    Storage & Serving

You can freeze these directly in the moulds, but if you’re popping them out ahead of time, wrap them individually in parchment paper and store them in an airtight container.Best enjoyed within 5–7 days for the freshest taste and texture.

Serving Suggestions: Honestly, they’re perfect as-is, straight from the freezer on a hot day.

But if you’re feeling a little fancy, try these:

    – Plate with a fruit salad on the side.

    – Drizzle with honey and sprinkle some crushed pistachios.

    – Or serve mini ones at a party for a cute, refreshing treat!

    FAQ

Q: Can I use frozen mangoes instead of fresh?

Yes, absolutely! Just let them thaw slightly before blending so your mixer doesn’t struggle. And give it a taste, frozen mangoes are sometimes less sweet, so you might want to add a bit more sugar or honey.

    Q: I don’t have a popsicle mould — what can I do?

Easy fix! Use steel tumblers, disposable paper cups, or even small silicone cups. Cover with foil, poke in a stick, and freeze like normal. Ice trays also work well if you’re going for mini pops!

Q: Can I skip the sugar?

Of course! If your mangoes are naturally sweet, you won’t miss the sugar. And for a healthier twist, try honey, date syrup, or maple syrup — all taste fab.

    Variations

Honey-Mango Popsicles — Instead of refined sugar, go natural with honey. It adds this lovely, mellow sweetness that blends beautifully with mango and yogurt.

Mango Coconut Popsicles — Want a dairy-free option? Just swap the yogurt with thick coconut milk or coconut cream. Super tropical, super creamy, and vegan too!

Swirled Mango Yogurt Popsicles — Not in the mood for neat layers? Pour the mango and yogurt alternately and give it a gentle swirl with a stick. The marbled effect is so pretty and looks like you put in extra effort (shh, we won’t tell).

Mini Treats for Toddlers — If you’ve got toddlers at home, pour the mixture into ice cube trays or mini silicone moulds. They’ll love the mini size, and you’ll love how easy they are to serve.

    Equipment

    • Popsicle Mould
    • Blender

    Ingredients

    For Mango layer

    • 1 large Ripe Mango
    • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
    • 3 tbsp Sugar to taste

    For Yogurt layer

    • 1 cup Unflavoured Yogurt (unsweetened)
    • ¼ cup Sugar or to taste

    Instructions

    • Pre-prep - Start by washing the mango well and peeling off the skin. Roughly chop the mango flesh and discard the seed. If you're using regular yogurt, place it in a muslin cloth and let it drain for 30 minutes to an hour to remove excess water. This helps in getting that thick consistency we want.
    • Making the Mango Puree - Add the chopped mango pieces into a blender. Toss in sugar according to taste and 2 tsp of lemon juice. Blend everything until silky smooth. If you’re using Alphonso mangoes, you’ll get a bright golden-orange color that looks beautiful in popsicles.
    • Preparing the Yogurt Mix - In a separate bowl, take 1 cup of thick yogurt. Add sugar or honey to taste. Whisk it well until the mixture becomes creamy and smooth, with the sugar fully dissolved.
    • Layering & Freezing - Take your popsicle moulds. Start by pouring a layer of mango puree, then gently spoon in the yogurt mixture. Alternate layers as desired, or do a single thick layer of each. Pop on the lid and insert the stick. Place in the freezer for 7–8 hours or overnight.
    • Unmoulding - To remove the popsicles easily, hold the moulds under running tap water for 10–15 seconds, then gently wiggle the stick to pull them out. Serve immediately!
