    Mutton Rasam Recipe / Lamb Rasam Recipe / Mutton Soup Recipe

    I have been mentioning this recipe in my mutton thoran recipe. It is one of the yummiest rasam i made, plus you got two recipes from one..This rasam is one of the comforting recipe, and it is really good for you and your throat when you have cold or you are really sick.So next time when you get mutton just this and the mutton thoran and let me know how it turned out...

    Preparation Time : 10 mins
    Cooking Time : 40 to 45 mins
    Serves : 5 to 6


    Ingredients:

    Mutton / Lamb - ½ kg chopped into small pieces
    Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
    Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
    Salt to taste
    Curry leaves - 2 sprig
    Tomato - 1 medium size chopped
    Coconut Oil - 1 tblspn
    Coriander Leaves for garnishing
     
    For Grinding:
    Shallots / Sambar Onion - 4 peeled and sliced 
    Garlic 6 cloves
    Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
    Whole Pepper - 1 tsp

    Method:
     
    Take
    mutton, salt, turmeric powder in a pressure cooker. Add in 2 cups of
    water and pressure cook it for 10 whistle, simmer for 10 mins, turn off
    the heat and let them steam go all by itself. Open the cooker, Now drain
    the mutton and stock. You can use the mutton to make thoran.

    Take the grinding ingredients in a blender and crush them.

    Heat oil in a kadai. Add the ground masala and mix well. Add in tomatoes, curry leaves and saute once.

    Add in turmeric, chilli powder and salt. Mix well.

    Now pour in the stock and bring it to a boil.

    Once it reaches boil, turn off the heat and add coriander leaves.

    Serve with rice.

    Saute till raw smell leaves

    add salt, chilli and turmeric

    bring it to boil

    once it reaches a boil
