    Tomato and Flaxseed Chutney Recipe with step by step pictures. This recipes with flax seeds is one of the new and interesting chutney that can be tried at home.

    Tomato and Flaxseed Chutney

    This chutney is one of my latest discovery. I bought few packets of flaxseed from my super market and have been looking for recipes to include it. Whenever we make chutney, we either add some chana dal or coconut for the thickness in it, so this time i thought of using flaxseeds in them which gives the thickness automatically..

    Ingredients for Tomato and Flaxseed Chutney

    • Oil - 1 tsp
    • Garlic - 4 cloves
    • Dry Red Chilli - 2 to 3
    • Tomatoes - 1 large chopped
    • Flaxseeds - 2 tbsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Tamarind pulp - 1 tsp

    For Seasoning:

    • Oil - 1 tbsp
    • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp

    How to Make Tomato and Flaxseed Chutney

    1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a kadai. Add in garlic, chillies, flax seed and saute till golden. Remove it to a blender.
    2. In the same kadai, add in tomatoes and cook till it is cooked. Remove it to the same blender,
    3. Add in salt, tamarind into that. Puree till smooth.
    4. Transfer this to a bowl.
    5. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai, add in mustard and let them pop.
    6. Pour this over the chutney and mix well.
    7. Serve.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 tsp Oil
    • 4 cloves Garlic
    • 2 to 3 Dry Red Chilli
    • 1 large chopped Tomatoes
    • 2 tbsp Flaxseeds
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 tsp Tamarind pulp
    • For Seasoning:
    • 1 tbsp Oil
    • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku

    Instructions

    Take all your ingredients
    Pin
    Heat oil in a kadai
    Pin
    Add in garlic, chillies and flaxseeds
    Pin
    saute them for 2 to 3 mins till it turns golden
    Pin
    Remove them to a blender jar
    Pin
    In the same pan
    Pin
    add in tomatoes
    Pin
    cook till raw smell leaves from it

    Now add this to the blender jar as well

    Add in salt to taste

    and a little tamarind

    Puree it smoothly, add water as needed

    Heat oil for seasoning
