This is the recipe which Amma makes often and this is my last sister’s favourite chutney. This taste best with hot idli’s or dosa. A perfect combo you could ever imagine.

Raw Onion Chutney Recipe | Pachai Vengaya Chutney Recipe
- 2 Onion chopped roughly
- 4 Dry Red Chilli
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 1 tsp Tamarind Pulp
- Salt as needed
- For Seasonings:
- 2 tbsp Gingelly Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- Grind all the ingredients given for the chutney in a blender to a fine paste and transfer it into a bowl.
- Now make seasoning. Heat oil and crackling mustard and curry leaves.
- Pour this seasoning over the chutney and mix well.
- Serve with idli or dosas..

Instant Version: Onion Chutney Recipe
This recipe of instant raw onion chutney doesn't have any seasoning done. But has a addition of hot gingelly oil poured on top.

- 1 small piece tamarind
- 4 tbsp gingelly oil
