If you have no time to make any side dish for idli or dosa..Then check out this, a no cook( you should fry seasoning alone) onions chutney which will blow your mind off.

This is the recipe which amma makes often and this is my last sister’s favorite chutney. This taste best with  hot idli’s or dosa. A perfect combo you could ever imagine.
I hope you will love this and let me know how it cameout.
Ingrediants:
Onion-2 large chopped roughly
Dry Red Chilli – 2
Garlic – 4 cloves
Tamarind Paste -2 tsp
Salt as needed
For Seasonings:
Oil-2 tblspn
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku -1 tsp
Curry leaves -1 spring
Method:
Grind all the ingrediants given for the chutney in a blender to a fine paste and transfer it into a bowl.
Now make seasoning by heating oil and crackling mustard and curry leaves.
Pour this seasoning over the chutney and mix well.
Serve with idli or dosas..
Pictorial:

HI I have done this chutney, no of times, I live in california, but always the raw smell of onions and the whole chutney taste will be like, as if we are eating raw onion, and my hubby, always tells me, that I don't know how to prepare raw onion chutney. It irritates me alot,I tried many times, but now, my hubby said that he lost the orginal raw chutney taste which his mom used to prepare in India. Please help..

    Thank you,

    @mithra

Make the raw onion chutney as mentioned here and don't forget to do the seasoning which i have given in the end…Pouring hot seasoning over the chutney makes the onion little milder…So i hope this helps out..

@mithra I have felt the same way too. These onions here are not like the ones in India. Instead of red onions try using white onions. also make it a day earlier and store it in fridge. That settles the raw taste for me.
