Crispy Vegetable Samosa Recipe / Veg Samosa Recipe

If you read this, you will think that why she didn't write anything about maha's birthday. But please be patient, i am working on it..I thought of sharing her 1st birthday cake recipe and write everything there. I will be posting that recipe today.so make sure you check them..

Before that i wanted to share this samosa recipe. Normally i make samosa all from scratch..You can check out my Punjabi samosa and Tapioca samosa..But few weeks back when i went shopping, i saw this readymade samosa patti in the freezer section, i was so excited to see that because my super market never carries them so far. So i took a packet and came home happily..

At first i wanted to make chicken samosa using them. But i used them to make vegetable samosa for maha's birthday part yesterday..It came out superb and everyone loved them..If you dont have the samosa patti on hand, you can make them from scratch using the recipe from my tapioca samosa..

Preparation Time : 20 to 30 mins
Cooking Time : 30 mins
Makes : 25 samosa

Samosa Patti - 25 sheets
Oil - 1 tblspn + for deep frying
Onion - 1 medium size finely chopped
Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Coriander Powder / Malli Podi - 1 tblspn
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1/2 tsp
Carrots - 1 medium size grated
Beans - 6 chopped finely
Cauliflower - 1/2 cup finely chopped
Peas - 1/2 cup (frozen)
Salt to taste
Tomato Ketchup - 1 tblspn
Potatoes - 2 boiled, peeled and mashed
Coriander leaves -2 tblspn finely chopped

For Sticking paste:
All Purpose Flour / Maida - 3 tblspn
Water - 3 to 4 tblspn

Heat oil in a kadai. Add in onions and saute till they turn translucent. Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.

Add in all spice powders and mix well.

Add in carrots, all veggies and mix well. Cook for 8 to 10 mins.

Now add in ketchup and salt. Toss once.

Add in mashed potatoes and mix well.

Add in coriander leaves and mix well. Filling done.

Mixing flour and water to make a thick paste, this is your sticking paste. Set aside till use.

Take frozen samosa patti, take one sheet from it. Place filling and fold. When you come to the end, spread some sticking paste and fold.

Heat oil for deep frying. Drop the samosa in and fry for a min till golden.

Remove and serve.

1)While using frozen patti, remove them 20 mins from the freezer before you prepare them.
2)Always cover them with wet towel when you work with the others, so they dont dry up.
3)You can make the samosa and layer them between sheets of parchment and freeze the. When you want to fry them, take it from freezer and fry them directly, dont need to thaw.
