Some of the most popular samosa is punjabi potato samosa, chicken samosa, vegetable samosa, potato peas samosa and many more. Even though samosa is one of the most loved snack around the world. It is high in calories because it is deep fried. One Fried samosa is nearly 100 calories. If you are looking for healthy alternative to fried samosa, you can choose to air fry or bake samosa.

Samosa Sheets - Samosa sheets is also known as samosa patti. I used readymade frozen samosa sheets that are available in the frozen section of the super market. You can make homemade samosa sheets or buy from stores. Store bought is convenient because making samosa Patti at home can be time consuming.

Cheese - grated cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese can be used in cheese samosa. Processed cheese like Amul cheese adds a creamy texture when fried.

Spices - For Indian style cheese samosa, you can add some cumin powder, chaat masala or amchoor powder as flavouring.

Dried Herbs - I like to sprinkle grated cheese with some dried oregano, red chilli flakes and dried parsley for an Italian flavour.

Optional - Ingredients like fresh coriander leaves, onions, bell peppers, grated carrots, chopped spinach, corn, sliced jalapeños can be used for a variation.

Oil  - for frying samosa I like to use neutral tasting oil which doesn’t affect the over all taste of the samosa.

How to Fold Samosa Easy Method

    how to fold a samosa

Making cheese samosa is very easy. The filling doesn't involve any cooking, all you need is to mix few ingredients in a bowl. You can customise samosa however way you like.

But for easy method of folding. Take samosa patti and spoon some filling in the top corner. Fold it in triangles and keep doing this till it come to the end. Once it comes to the end, You mix flour with water to form a paste. Use this paste to seal the edges. Thats it.

Once samosa is folded, you can either deep fry it immediately or place them on a parchment lined freezer safe container and freeze for future use.
