Homemade Mango Jam Recipe - How to Make Mango Jam at Home - Jam without Preservatives

I love making jams, not only it is healthy to make at home. But homemade jams taste really delicious than the store bought kind. This mango jam is so far the best one i have made, it taste like pure mangoes and makes your sandwich even more tasty. Hubby love his jam sandwich a lot when i make it with my homemade jams

As usual i dont like to add pectin or preservatives in my jam..I make it with just fruit puree, sugar and a dash of lemon juice. The lemon acts as a preservative and also i dont make a whole bunch of jam. I always make a small batch of jam and keep it in fridge, it will last me for a good couple of weeks or even a month. Hope you will try this out and let me know how it turns out for you..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 20 to 25 mins
Makes : 1 cup of jam

Ingredients :

Mango - 2 large ( around 2 cup of mango pulp)
Sugar - 1/2 cup depends on the sweetness of mangoes
Lemon Juice - 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp

Method:

Chop mangoes, take it in a blender and puree smooth.

Pour this into a nonstick kadai and cook for 2 mins.

Add in sugar and keep cooking them till it gets thick and leaves the sides, it will take around 8 to 10 mins.

Now take it off the heat and add in lemon juice. Mix well.

Cool this down and store it in a air tight container in fridge.

This can be kept for more than a month in fridge.

  1. such a simple recipe!
i make the jam similarly, however i don't puree the mangoes but just dice them into really small cubes as it makes the jam chunky.
    thanks aarthi.
