    Glazed Sugar Cookies

    Many of you have been asking me to share sugar cookies, christmas cutout cookies recipe. Finally i made both the eggless and with egg version for this christmas. Both of them turned out so good.

    These cookies make a great holiday treat as well as a great christmas present. You can put them in small plastic cover, tie them with a ribbon and you are good to go.

    As soon as i saw this video on youtube, i know i have to give it a try. It is such a cute cookie to try but taste so delicious and pretty easy to make as well. The decorations on these cookies totally depends on your imagination and creativity. it is a great cookie to try with your lil one, because they will love it for sure..

    Ingredients for Glazed Sugar Cookies

    • Soft Unsalted Butter - ¾ cup / 170 grams
    • Sugar - 1 cup / 200 grams
    • Vanilla Essence - 2 tsp
    • Eggs - 2
    • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 3 cups / 360 grams
    • Baking Powder - ½ tsp
    • Salt - ¼ tsp
    • Jam - as needed (Use any of your favourite jam)
    • Icing Sugar / Confectioners Sugar - 3 to 4 tbsp
    • Royal Icing - 1 batch (RECIPE HERE)

    (My 1 cup measures 240 ml)

    How to make Glazed Sugar Cookies

    1. Take butter, sugar and vanilla in a bowl and whip till creamy. Now add in one egg at a time and whip till fluffy.
    2. Add in flour, baking powder and salt and whip again till it is mixed into a soft dough.
    3. Now wrap this in plastic and chill this for couple of hours.
    4. Once the dough is chilled. Cut it in half.
    5. Now preheat oven to 180 degree C.
    6. Roll the dough into ¼ inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. 
    7. Arrange it in a parchment lined baking tray.
    8. Bake for 12 to 15 mins. If your cookies are thicker it may take upto 15 mins.
    9. Now remove it from oven and cool it down completely.
    10. Now decorate it as you wish and let it set for an hour or so and store this in a air tight container.

    Take soft butter in a bowl

    add in sugar

    add in vanilla

    use a beater to whip this up

    now it is well creamed

    Take half of the dough

    Warm it with your hands and shape it into round

    Now take your christmas cookie cutters

    dip it in flour first

    I made these cute teddy for my lil one..Gingerbread men and teddy are her favourite

    You can use a straw and make a small hole on top of the cookies,
    so you can hang them as christmas decorations on tree

    Arrange it in a foil lined baking sheet

    Bake for 12 to 15 mins till the cookies get light golden around the edges

    remove it and cool it completely

    Now lets make the icing bag..Take a triangle shape of parchment paper

    Now place a icing bag in a small cup

    fill with icing

    Spread a newspaper down, place a cooling rack on 
    top and arrange cookies over it
