I love having oatmeal for breakfast. Most of the time my breakfast will be either cereal or oatmeal. I occasionally have idli or dosa or upma for breakfast. I have shared few versions of oatmeal, i make those version often. But most of the time it is plain ol oatmeal porridge with some kind of dried fruits on top.

In my place i couldn’t find any other kind of oatmeal like rolled or steel cut. I could only get instant variety so i use those. But if you can get your hands on rolled oatmeal please use that because they are the best ones. Making oatmeal is not at all a recipe, but this is how i like to make my oatmeal..If i am having it plain i like to cook my oatmeal in water instead of milk and add a splash of milk at the end..I like my oatmeal sweet but not too sweet, so i add a tiny little amount of honey.
Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..
Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 5 mins
Serves: 1 to 2

Ingredients:
Instant Oatmeal – 1/2 cup
Water – 1 cup
Soy Milk or Regular Milk – 1/2 cup or as needed
Honey or Sugar to taste
Dried Fruits as needed

Method:
Take water and oats in a sauce pan and cook as per package direction or as per your liking.
Now let this cool down a bit.

Add in honey and milk to taste and mix well.
Spoon this in a serving bowl and top with dried fruits.
Serve.
Pictorial:
Add instant oats to water

cook till it is done as per your liking

i set this aside to cool down a bit

as it cools it will thicken

add in a tiny bit of honey

mix well

i like soy milk, so i added a splash of it

mix well

spoon this in a bowl

top with any dried fruits

i had some figs

chop it up

top the porridge with figs

Enjoy
