    About Mango Sorbet

    Sorbet is a simple and healthy frozen fruit dessert made directly from fruit, without any dairy or milk products. Sorbets are popular in Italy, whereas it is often served as a palate cleanser or a refreshing treat. This mango sorbet recipe involves cutting and blending the mango, then mixing it with lemon-sugar sauce, freezing and serving it. It creates a smooth, soft and melty treat. This is one of our all-time favourite healthy desserts.

    Why I Love Making this Dessert - Forget fancy desserts, these incredible easy mango sorbets are a perfect summer delicious treat. It will cool you down and put a smile on your face. This sorbet is prepared using simple and budget friendly ingredients which are easily available at home. And does not require any fancy cooking machines. Sorbet recipes are endlessly customizable and delicious healthy treats.

    Sorbet can be made with any seasonal fruits and it’s a great alternative option to traditional ice cream. Most store bought sorbets are loaded with added sugar and preservatives. You can easily make it at home without any sweetener if you have very ripe mangoes. This mango sorbet is a perfect way to beat the summer heat wave.

    This EPIC mango sorbet requires minimal ingredients which are easily available at every household. You can also make this creamiest sorbet with any fruit at home.

    Easy to make : This mango sorbet is easy to make. All you have to do is puree the mango, mix with sugar-lemon syrup and freeze it.

    Flavour : This sorbet is bursting with mangoes as we are using 2 ripe mangoes which yields 1.5 cups of mango puree.

    Texture : This mango sorbet is so creamy and soft. It is also a great alternative to ice cream.

    Ingredients

    Ripe mangoes : Make sure to use any variety of ripe mangoes for best quality and taste. It can also be substituted with canned mango puree, but the taste may differ.

    Lemon juice : This juice is used to add tartness to enhance natural flavour of the fruit and sweetness.

    Water : Water is used to bind the ingredients.

    Sugar : Sugar can be adjusted according to your preference. You can also substitute with maple syrup, coconut sugar, and agave.

    Optional - for unique refreshing flavour, you can use mint leaves.

    Mango Sorbet (Step by Step Pictures)

     1)Take mangoes in a blender

    2)Puree till smooth

    3)Take sugar in a sauce pan

    4)Add lemon juice

    5)Add water

    6)Bring it to a boil

    7)Boil till sugar melts

    8)Take it off the heat and add mango puree

    9)Now the mangoes are added in

    10)Whisk till mixed

    11)Pour it in a loaf pan

    12)Freeze for 3 to 4 hours

    13)Now it is frozen

    14)Take it in a blender

    15)Blend till creamy

    16)Pour it back in the pan and freeze.

    17)Once it is set, scoop and serve.

    Sorbet Using Frozen Mangoes (Instant)

    Mango season is here, I bought bunch of mangoes few days back, peeled, cubed and kept in freezer because they would come handy someday. Yesterday my sister came to my house and we were just chatting, suddenly she asked me to make something cool to drink, so I went to the fridge and found this bags of frozen mangoes. I had some mint on hand too, since she loves mint. I decided to put them together and make a slushy kind of drink for her.

    So I put everything in a blender and crushed them. The end product was so thick that you can scoop them and have it as it is. When I tasted, it was amazing just like an instant mango and mint sorbet.

    1)Take ripe mangoes.

    2)Peel the skin from the mangoes.

    3)Cut them into pieces and take them in a plate or tray. Pop them in freezer and freeze them solid.

    5)Take frozen mangoes, mint leaves in a blender.

    6)Add sugar and lemon juice.

    7)Blend them till thick and creamy like this.

    8) You can serve immediately or put them in freezer for later.

    9)Enjoy.

    Yes, you can use canned mango puree. Just thaw the puree before adding it to the sugar-lemon juice sauce. Also the store bought puree contains more added sugars than real fruits. Real fruits provide the fresh and natural flavour to sorbet.

    3.Does a sorbet recipe need an ice cream maker machine?

    No, you can even make it at your home using a blender / mixer.

    4.Is sorbet a gluten free recipe?

    Sorbets are prepared using real fruits, sugar and water. The recipe does not require any dairy products. So, the sorbets are a naturally gluten friendly recipe.

    Variations

    Chilli mango sorbet : For an Indianized sorbet version, you can try chilli mango sorbet recipe. It is prepared using raw mango and chilli powder.

    Berries sorbet : Berries like strawberry, blueberry, raspberry can be used. After grinding the berries, strain the puree using a fine mesh to remove the seeds.

    Mint sorbet : Adding a dash of mint leaves to your sorbet mixture. It is so cool and refreshing.

    Equipment

    Ingredients

    • 2 large Ripe Mangoes peeled and chopped
    • ½ cup Sugar
    • ½ cup Water
    • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

    Instructions

    • Peel and cube mangoes. Take mangoes in a blender and puree til smooth. Set this aside.
    • Take sugar, lemon juice and water in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Take it off the heat and add pureed mangoes and Mix well. Spoon this into a container and freeze for 3 to 4 hours.
    • Now remove the semi frozen sorbet frozen mix in a blender and puree till smooth. Spoon back in the container and freeze. Repeat this 2 more times.
    • Now freeze this overnight. Remove the container from freezer 10 minutes before serving. Scoop and serve.
