Paneer Cheese Wraps Recipe / Paneer Cheese Rolls Recipe

I was thinking so hard yesterday for dinner ideas..Sometimes it happens, your head go blank and you will be looking for inspiration. I know i had a packet of paneer, so i am sure that it is going to be something using that. Hubby told me to make roti and paneer curry. But i was quite bored to make the same thing again and again. So i decided to use the both and create a new dish.

So i decided to make a paneer wrap, i had some cheese in my fridge, so i added that as well. I dont want the outer layer of the wrap to be too thick and chewy so i made a rumali roti instead of regular roti or chapati. When i finished making the wrap and tasted it, it was sooo good..I had some leftover so i enjoyed it for todays breakfast as well.
Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you.
Preparation Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 40 to 45 mins
Makes : 4 wraps

Ingredients:
Rumali Roti / Thin Chapati – 4 (RECIPE HERE)
Carrot – 1 medium size grated finely
Mozzarella Cheese / Pizza Cheese – 1 cup grated finely
Butter – 2 tblspn

For Filling:
Butter – 1 tblspn
Onion – 1 medium size chopped finely
Tomato – 1 medium size chopped finely
Chilli Powder – 2 tsp or to taste
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Tomato Kechup – 1/4 cup
Paneer – 200 grams cut into small pieces
Onion – 1 medium size sliced thinly
Tomato – 1 medium size chopped finely
Coriander leaves or Parsley – 3 tblspn finely chopped
Lemon Juice to taste
Salt to taste
Water – 1 cup
Method:
Start by making the filling. Heat butter in a frying pan, add in finely chopped onions and saute till it turns light golden.
Now add in tomatoes and cook till it is completely mushy.
Now add in chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and tomato ketchup. Mix this well and cook till oil separates.
Now add in some water and bring it to a boil.
Add in cubed paneer and mix well. Cover this with a lid and cook on medium heat till the masala goes into the paneer. Cook this for 10 mins or so.
Open the lid and dry the curry a little.
Once the paneer curry is dried up a little, add in sliced onions and toss well on high heat for couple of mins.
Turn off the heat and add in tomatoes, parsley and lemon juice. Mix well Filling done.
Now spread a rumali roti, spoon some filling in, top with grated carrots and cheese. Fold it like a wrap.
Heat some butter in a tawa. Place the wrap on the butter and cook both sides till golden.
Remove and serve

Pictorial:
Take your ingredients for filling..
You need some ketchup as well

First heat a frying pan with some butter…
because butter makes everything better

Add in finely chopped onions

saute till nicely golden

add in some chopped tomatoes

Cook till it is completely cooked down

Add in chilli powder

and a touch of garam masala powder

add in some tomato ketchup..This is the secret touch

season with some salt

now the masala is almost done

pour in water

bring it to a boil

add in chopped paneer cubes..

mix that well

cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 mins
till the paneer gets soft and absorbs the curry

Now the curry is dried quite a bit, if it is too saucy,
open the lid and dry the curry a little on high heat

At this point, add in some sliced onions

toss that well with the masala for 2 mins on high heat

Now turn off the heat and add in chopped tomatoes
and chopped parsley or coriander leaves

squeeze some lemon juice

mix well

filling done

I used rumali roti for this, because it is thin and it taste
so good. I also grated some carrots and cheese

spread a rumali roti, RECIPE HERE..

spoon some paneer filling in

top with grated carrots

and grated cheese

first fold from this side

now roll the paratha

the fold this side

and roll it completely

time to toast them up

Again i melted a tblspn of butter

place the rolls in

keep toasting them

they will turn golden

look how golden and crispy it has got

Enjoy with ketchup, i love it with some spicy mayo

enjoy..

@Unknowni think u must have over cooked it, so it must have got hard. You have to cook them lightly, so they will retain their softness, since they are very thin
