    Tandoori Momos Ingredients

Momos - for making tandoori momos, you can use veg momos or chicken momos. Leftover momos can be used as well.

yogurt - fresh thick yogurt or curd is preferred in the marinate. It creates a thick coating over the momos.

Spices - as gas as spices, you can use tandoori masala or use a combination of regular spices.

Ginger and Garlic - use fresh ginger and garlic for flavour.

Lemon  - a dash of lemon juice is added for fresh tangy taste. Add lemon juice to marinate. You can also serve it after it is cooked.

Cornstarch - cornstarch is added into the tandoori marinate which creates a coating over momos. It helps the coating to get crispy.

Oil - use oil, ghee or butter for cooking tandoori momos.

Chaat Masala Powder - I prefer to add a generous pinch of chaat masala powder in the end for zingy taste.

How to Make Tandoori Momos (Stepwise Pictures)

    Preparing Momos

1)The first step for making tandoori momos is making momos itself. You can follow this recipe to make momos at home. Or you can buy frozen momos or use leftover store bought momos.

You can use chicken momos or veg momos.

2)Deep fry momos until it is cooked. You can use steamed momos as well, but steamed momos tends to be delicate so it is better to shallow fry the momos.

    Make Tandoori Marination

3)Take thick yogurt in a bowl. Add in all the spice powders into the yogurt. Add in ginger garlic paste as well.

4)Add in lemon juice for fresh zingy taste.

5)Add in some cornstarch and mix well. Mix the cornstarch until it is combined.

6)Season the marinate with some salt. Mix well. Taste and adjust the seasoning.

7)Now the tandoori marination is ready.

    Marinating Tandoori Momos

8)In the marination, add in the fried momos.

9)Toss the fried momos in the marination. Let the masala coat all over the fried momos.

10)Now you can cook the momos either in a pan or in oven. For cooking in a pan, heat oil, ghee or butter in a pan. Place the momos in oil and cook on low heat until it is cooked.

Instead of cooking the momos in a pan, you can cook them in tandoor or oven for more flavour. Preheat oven to 220 degree c. Place the momos in oven top rack. Cook got 8 to 10 mins on high heat.

11)Keep tossing the momos around and cook until it is done.

    12)Now the momos is ready.

13)Remove the momos to a serving plate, sprinkle with some chaat masala powder.

    14)Serve hot.
