Honey Nut Granola Bars Recipe - No Bake Granola Bars Recipe

I love granola bars, but i have never shared a single recipe for it in my blog which surprised me. So here i am sharing a simple version of granola bars. This is a honey and nuts flavour. Will soon share other variations of this recipe as well.

This is a no bake recipe and it taste fantastic. It is crisp and chewy at the same time. Love it.

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 15 mins
Makes: 10 squares


Rolled Oatmeal or Instant Oats - 1 cup
Flax Seeds - 3 tblspn
Brown Sugar - 1/2 cup
Honey - 3 tblspn
Butter - 1 tsp + 2 tblspn
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Mixed Nuts - 1/2 cup (cashews, almonds and pista)

(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)

Buy Rolled Oats, Brown Sugar & Flax Seeds


Take a square pan, line with parchment paper or foil and grease it lightly with oil or butter. Set aside.

Heat butter in a pan, add chopped nuts and roast till golden, drain them to a plate.

In the same butter, add oats and flax seeds and toast them for 2 mins. Remove them to the plate as well.

Now in the same pan, take brown sugar, butter, honey  and mix them well. Bring it to a boil.

Now boil this for 1 min.

Now take it off the heat, add vanilla and salt. Mix well.

Add oats, nuts and toss well.

Spoon this in the prepared pan and smooth the top.

Set this in fridge for 30 mins.

now remove it and slice.

Serve or store it in a air tight container.

take all your ingredients

line a pan with foil and grease lightly with oil or butter
take nuts in a  chopping board

chop it finely

heat 1 tsp of butter in a pan

add nuts

fry till golden

remove them to a plate

now in the same pan, add oats

add flax seeds

toast them for couple of mins, remove them to a plate
now in the same pan, heat butter

add brown sugar

add honey

mix well

bring it to a boil

let them bubble for a min

take it off the heat, add salt

Add in vanilla

add nuts

add oats

mix well

now it all mixed up

spoon this in the pan

smooth it out

put it in fridge for 30 mins

unmould it

slice them into bars



  1. brown sugar is jaggery or something different?

    1. It is a little different. Normally it is dry and powder form. You could use jaggery as well in this.

  4. Is it safe to boil honey? I've heard that honey shouldn't be boiled. Can we add honey after taking the pan from the stove?

    1. Yes it is safe. Many cooking and baking recipes calls for this method.

    2. I am afraid it isn't safe Aarthi ma'am. According to Ayurveda, when honey is boiled, it produces ama/toxin. When consumed, the toxin stays within the body and does not get flushed out. I see that predominantly in the western world, honey is used in cooking/baking. It may be that they are not aware of Ayurvedic wisdom.
