Beetroot Moong Dal Sabzi Recipe

A quick and easy sabzi made using beets and dal. It is delicious and healthy too.

Cooking Time: 30 mins
Serves: 4


Beetroots - 2 grated
Yellow Moong Dal - 1/2 cup
Oil - 1 tblspn
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Water as needed


Soak moong dal for 1 hour.Drain and set aside.

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and urad dal. Let them sizzle.

Add beetroot and saute them for a while. Add in moong dal and mix well. Add little water and cover it with a lid. Cook this for 15 mins till dal is cooked.

Add chilli powder and salt and mix well.


peel beetroot skins
grate them finely

soak moong dal for 1 hour

heat oil mustard and urad dal

let them sizzle
add beets

add moong dal

mix well...add little water
cover and simmer

now it is cooked

now dal is cooked

add salt and chilli powder

mix well
