Carrot milkshake is a yummy, creamy and delicious drink made with carrots and milk. The carrots are grated, sauteed and cooked using water or milk. Then it is blended with chilled milk and sugar. This milkshake is perfect for hot summer days and a quick healthy drink for kids.

    Carrot Milkshake

This has become my all time favourite milkshake and a family favourite too. I have become quite famous for this milkshakes. It is so frothy and so creamy without ice cream..The carrots are cooked in this which results in smooth milkshake. Because raw carrot milkshake can be quite grainy. Great for breakfast or a light lunch.

    About Carrot Milkshake

Milkshakes are one of my favorite drinks to have any time of the day. When I want something light for breakfast or want to have something chill after a heavy meal, it is my go-to option.

This carrot milkshake is a creamy, naturally sweet and refreshing drink made with carrot, milk and sugar. Usually carrot milkshakes are made by grinding raw carrots which have a slight grainy texture. So, to make it as smooth and creamy I have used cooked carrots. The cooked carrots are blended along with chilled milk and sugar. The milkshake can be enjoyed immediately in a glass. It is one of the cool and tasty drinks that you can make without spending too much time in the kitchen.

Carrots are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and fibre. As the carrots get its orange color from the antioxidant called beta carotene, which is good for your vision and improves immunity. So, this makes a healthy and nutritious drink which is perfect for both kids and adults.

Carrots are not only meant for making poriyal, juice, salad or soup. The mix of carrot and milk is a deadly combination that you can make carrot halwa, carrot kheer, carrot burfi, carrot popsicle and many more recipes.

    WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS

Simple and easy : The milkshake can be made with basic pantry ingredients like carrot, milk and sugar. The delicious and creamy drink can be made in less than 20 minutes.

Customizable : The milkshake recipe can be customized with various flavours like by adding cardamom powder, saffron, and nuts like almonds, pistachio and cashew. These ingredients when added gives a nice aroma and taste to the milkshake. The recipe can also be made vegan using non dairy milk like oat milk, almond milk.

Baby friendly : It can be also given for babies below 1 year, who started their solid journey. Mix the cooked carrot along with breastmilk or formula milk instead of cow milk, and make into puree. Serve them in a bowl.

    Ingredients

Carrot : Use fresh and good quality carrots. Grate them using a food processor. Carrots can be chopped and steamed or saute and cook the grated carrots like I did.

Milk : Use full fat cream milk for the rich and creamy taste. For vegan, use any non dairy milk like oat milk, almond milk and coconut milk for blending.

Sugar : As the carrots are already sweet in nature, adjust or add the sugar quantity based on your liking. You can use any sweetener like brown sugar, coconut sugar, condensed milk or honey.

Optional : Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream while blending or add it on top of milkshake before serving.

    Hacks

Pre grating : Grate the carrots a day before or during the weekend. Store them in an airtight container and put it inside the refrigerator. For busy days, these pre grated carrots come in handy.

Chilling : Boil and cool the milk completely. Then place the milk inside the fridge and chill it for at least 1 to 3 hours.

Flavour booster : Want to enhance the flavour of carrot milkshake ? Add soaked nuts like cashewnut, almond or pistachios while grinding.
