Wheat Rava Kesari Recipe / Wheat Rava Halwa Recipe / Godhuma Rava Kesari Recipe

Kesari plays a important role in our menu..Every occasion is not complete without a spoon of this delicacy. I have quite a few collection of kesari recipe in my blog, from that itself you can know how close it stay in my heart.

Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time : 25 mins
Serves : 2


Wheat Rava / Broken Wheat / Gothumai Rava - 1/2 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Cardamom Powder / Yelakai podi - 1/2 tsp
Ghee - 1 tblspn + 1 tsp
Cashewnuts - 1 tblspn 
Sultanas / Kishmish - 1 tblspn
Food Colouring a pinch (optional)


Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker.

Add in wheat rava and roast for a min.

Add in milk and water and mix well. Cover and pressure cook for 2 whistle, simmer the flame and cook for 5 mins. Turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself. Open the cooker.

Add in sugar and keep cooking till it gets thick. Add little food colouring if you need.

Now heat ghee in a pan, add in cashews and fry till golden, add in kishmish and fry for few sec.

Pour this over the kesari and mix well..

Add in cardamom powder and mix well.

Serve warm.

Take all your ingredients

Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker

add in wheat rava

fry for a min

add in milk

and water

cover and pressure cook

now it is done

add in sugar

keep cooking

add a touch of food colour

mix well

it will get thick and starts to leave the sides

now heat ghee

you should have added cashews first, since i didn have that on hand, i used kishmish alone

fry lightly

pour it in

add in some cardamom powder

mix well

serve warm
