Easy Chicken Seekh Kebab Recipe / Chicken Seekh Kabab Recipe

This is one recipe which i wanted to try for so long. I love the look of it and it just makes me want to take one and grab a bite of it. I made this today and it turned out so juicy and moist. Loved the spices going on this and it is truly yummy.

Normally they make this with mutton mince or lamb mince, but i used chicken mince to make it and it turned out just yummy.

In this kebab you have to use generous amount of butter for flavour and texture. And also the last brushing of butter over it just before serving makes it shiny and tasty. You can even sprinkle some chat masala over it just before serving.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Marinating Time : 30 mins
Cooking Time : 7 to 10 mins 
Makes : 8 small kebab


Chicken Mince - 250 grams
Onion - 1 medium size chopped
Green Chilli - 1 chopped
Coriander Leaves - 3 tblspn chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tblspn or ( 4 cloves of garlic and 2 cm piece of ginger)
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Butter - 3 tblspn melted + more for cooking
Bread Crumbs - 2 to 3 tblspn
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp or to taste


Take onions in a blender and make them into a rough puree. Add in chilli, ginger garlic paste and coriander leaves to the blender along with chicken mince and puree it.

Remove this to a bowl and all all the ingredients. mix well. Set aside for 30 mins.

Now take a skewer and break it in half if needed.

Wet your hands in water, take small portion of the chicken mince and shape it into log.

Now place a skewer in the middle, press it inside, then shape it around the skewers, so it is smooth and evenly spread.

Now melt some butter in a pan, place the kebab over it and cook till golden brown on all sides, keep rotating it and brush with butter all over it.

Serve hot with lemon slices and onion rings.

Take all your ingredients

Take chopped onions in a blender

Puree roughly

add in coriander leaves

add in green chillies

and some ginger garlic paste

add in chicken mince

puree it finely

remove it to a bowl

add in garam masala powder

salt and cardamom powder

squeeze some lemon juice

add a good amount of melted butter

add in some breadcrumbs

add in chilli powder, i used kashmiri chilli powder

mix well..Leave this aside for 30 mins

now time for skewering, i took my long skewers

and cut it in half

now wet your hands in water

take small portion of it

roll it into log

place the skewer in the middle of it

and insert it 

use your hands to shape it and smoothen it

all done

Now brush your tawa with some butter or ghee

now it is well buttered

place the kebab over it

cook on medium high heat, keep rotating

keep on brushing the top with some melted butter

look how golden it has got

serve..I like to brush some more butter on top before serving, so it looks gleaming and shiny

  8. Hi Aarthi, i heard that grinding onions makes the taste bitter? Whenever I grind the onions to make paneer, the gravy does taste bitter so I just wanted to ask you if there's any reason for that?

  19. @Sheetal Senthil u shouldn't grind it to a smooth paste. it has to be roughly crushed
