This is one of my favourite dip, it has a beautiful sesame flavour from the tahini. It is creamy, garlicky, tangy all in one. Perfect to dip crisp cut veggies as well, it makes a great spread for any sandwiches or shawarma as well..Can be had as a dipping sauce for grilled chicken as well..
This is such a healthy spread to make and you can make a killer wrap using this. I made two wraps using this and it was spot on..Will share them soon..
Cooking Time : 35 to 45 mins for cooking chickpeas
Makes : around 2 cups
Chickpeas / Chana (Kabuli) – 1.5 cup cooked and drained
Tahini Sauce – 4 tblspn ( Recipe here)
Garlic – 2 cloves
Lemon Juice – 2 to 3 tblspn
Water – 2 to 3 tblspn
Olive Oil as needed
Salt to taste
Chilli Powder to taste
First take garlic in a blender and give one quick blend.
Now add in chickpeas, tahini, salt, chilli powder, lemon juice and give a quick blend.
Add water as needed and puree till smooth.
Transfer this to a bowl, use the back of the spoon to make a well in the center.
Drizzle in some olive oil and sprinkle some more chilli powder.
Serve as dip, or spread for sandwiches or wraps..
|Start by cooking some chickpeas|
|Take all your ingredients|
|Take some boiled drained chickpeas|
|You will be needing some tahini sauce as well..
|first take a garlic clove in a blender|
|pulse them so it is crushed|
|add in boiled chana|
|i had some tahini sauce on hand so i used them, if
you dont have tahini, dry roast some white sesame
seeds and add that in
|now it is added|
|add in lemon juice|
|add in salt and some chilli powder|
|time to blend|
|put a lid on|
|puree them roughly|
|add in little water to help this get smooth|
|now it is all smooth|
|transfer this to a bowl|
|use back of the spoon to make a well in the center|
|just like this|
|drizzle over some olive oil|
|sprinkle some chilli powder|
|Enjoy as dipping sauce or spread for wraps|
