This is a rich and high calorie delicacy which taste like heaven…This is one dish which you can indulge once in a while,if you need some happiness in life..
A crispy fried bread drenched in honeyed sugar syrup and drowned in rich sweetened milk and this whole lot is topped with any of your favorite nuts…

So what are you waiting for, have some love from me..Take this recipe and try it for this diwali..

This recipe goes to Blogging Marathan-Day 7 for the theme “Indian Festival Food with Step by Step pictures”..
Ingrediants:
Bread Slices
Sugar-1 cup
Water as needed
Badam or any nuts for garnishing
Ghee for shallow frying
For Rabri:
Milk-1 litre
Sugar- ½ cup or as per taste
Cardamom -4
Method:
Start by making Rabri…In a wide mouth kadai pour in milk and add in cardamom pods..
Bring this to boil and reduce to ¼…Now add in sugar and mix well..Let it boil till it reaches your required consistency..I usually love it little bit thicker..But you could make it thinner..
Now make sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water for 10 mins until it reaches one string consistency..If you take the spoon out of the syrup,it forms a string..
Now take your bread slices and cut into your desired shape..
Shallow fry the bread pieces in ghee till it turns golden on both sides..Drain it and set aside.
Immerse the fried bread pieces in sugar syrup and let it soak for 5 mins..Now remove that and plate it up..
Take a plate and pour some rabri in the bottom of the plate..Add the fried bread slices on top and pour some more rabri on top(if you wish).
Garnish with nuts and serve warm or cold..

I dont have heartine cutter.Just used a round lid.
I found the bread piece absorbs the malai. So that the dish is not the same in ur picture while serving. I think we should refrigerate only milk . While serving we have to add bread coated in sugar syrup. Am i right?
