All Purpose Flour / Maida – 3/4 cup / 90 grams
Cocoa Powder – 1/2 cup / 50 grams
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder – 3/4 tsp
Eggs – 2
Sugar – 1 cup / 200 grams
Oil – 1/3 cup / 80 ml
Vanilla Essence – 2 tsp
Buttermilk – 1/2 cup (see below)
Vanilla Buttercream – 1/4 batch (recipe here)
Chocolate Buttercream – 1/2 batch (recipe here)
*My 1 cup measures 240 ml
*If you dont have buttermilk, take 1/2 cup of milk and add 1.5 tsp of vinegar or lemon juice to it and mix well. Let this sit for 5 to 10 mins. Now use this.
Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Line 12 cup muffin tray with cupcake cases and set aside.
Take flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa powder in a sifter and sieve well.
Take oil, sugar, vanilla in a bowl and mix well. Add in eggs and give a good mix.
Add in buttermilk and whisk well.
Now add in the sifted flour mix and fold gently..
Use a icecream scoop to scoop the batter and fill the cupcake cases.
Bake for 18 to 20 mins untill a toothpick inserted comes clean.
Take the tray from oven and let it cool completely.
Meanwhile make a batch of vanilla and chocolate buttercream.
When the cupcakes are cooled, pipe the cream over the cupcakes and top with sprinkles.

|line the muffin tray with the cases|
|Now take flour in a sieve|
|add cocoa powder|
|add in baking soda|
|add in baking powder|
|take oil in a bowl|
|add in sugar|
|add in vanilla|
|whisk it little|
|add in eggs and whisk it up|
|now add in buttermilk, if you dont have buttermilk,
take milk in a bowl and add 1.5 tsp of lemon juice or vinegar
in it..Let it sit for 10 min, now buttermilk is done
|whisk it up|
|add the dry ingredients in|
|scrape the bowl using a spatula|
|now use a icecream scoop to take the batter|
|and fill the cupcake cases|
|now bake them..Let them cool completely|
|while the cupcakes are cooling, i made a batch of vanilla and chocolate buttercream|
|take a disposable piping bag and place a nozzle in|
|place the bag onto a cup|
|and dollop the cream in|
|this will create a lovely swirl pattern|
|take the cooled cupcakes in a plate|
|pipe the icing|
|go on and pipe around the cupcake|
|just like this|
|now the cupcakes are piped..|
|Top with some sprinkles and serve|
|the cool thing is, each cupcake will have a different pattern|
