I came across this recipe from my hubby who had tasted in kodaikanal.  He insisted me to try it, so i made it immediately and to my surprise it was totally yummy. I stuffed it with chicken and made it as a filling one.

    About Bread Omelette

Bread omelet is a facinating recipe. I love it so much, that i can eat it even everyday. It is one of my favorite too. Normally i leave out the chutney which is spread inside and have only the sandwich.

This recipe was on my mind for a long time. I love anything with bread and egg combo. This one has a tangy and a little spicy chicken filling in it, which makes it so tasty.. it was perfect and filling.

The chutney along with the cheese tasted so yummy. This is so filling too. I now make the chutney in bulk and freeze them. So I can make it whenever I want.

You can check my all purpose green chutney recipe.

    • Coriander leaves - ½ cup
    • Mint Leaves - ½ cup
    • Ginger - 1 teaspoon or a small piece peeled
    • Salt to taste
    • Sugar - 1 tsp
    • Green Chilli - 2
    • Lemon Juice - 2 tsp

Take all the chutney ingredients in a blender and make it into a smooth puree.

Bread Omelette (Step by Step Pictures)

This version of bread omelette has a chicken filling inside the eggy bread along with cheese and a spicy green chutney. It is like a fully loaded bread omelette. Instead of chicken you could use paneer or any vegetables or your choice.

    Take all your ingredients
Start by making the mint chutney
    Add some lemon juice

    Make into a puree

Now lets make chicken filling, heat oil in a pan, add in fennel seeds
    add in garlic
    add in onions
    salt
    saute till it turns translucent
cook till onions turns nicely caramelized
    add in green chillies
    add in tomatoes
    mix well
add in chilli, turmeric and garam masala powder
    Mix that well in oil
    add in cubed chicken
    mix well
cook the chicken till it is done
    now add in ketchup
    mix that well
add in fresh ground black pepper
    add lots of coriander leaves
    Filling done
    now crack open 4 eggs
    season with salt and pepper
    mix well
pour some egg in a oiled tawa
    place 4 slices of bread
spread some more egg on top..allow it to cook on a low heat
    now spread green chutney
spoon some chicken filling on one side of the bread
    top with lots of cheese
cover and allow it to melt
    flip over
Slice it in half and serve with some ketchup
    Taste heaven..
