    About this Recipe

Chocolate puddings are a type of pudding dessert that contains chocolate flavours. There are two types: a boiled then chilled dessert, which is texturally a custard set with starch and is popular in the United States, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Poland, and East and South East Asia, and a steamed/baked version, which is texturally
similar to cake and is popular in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Germany, and New Zealand.

    Custard :

Custard is a group of culinary preparations made from sweetened milk, cheese, or cream that has been thickened with egg or egg yolk and sometimes flour, corn starch, or gelatin. It can range in consistency from a thin pouring sauce to the thick pastry cream used to fill eclairs, depending on the recipe.

    What was the first pudding?

The Middle English word poding denoted a meat-filled animal stomach in 1305, when English pudding was invented. Fortunately, the word evolved to pudding and took on a completely different meaning. Pudding is a milk-based dessert similar to custard in the United States and Canada.

Ingredients for Eggless Chocolate Custard Pudding

    Custard Powder :
Custard powder is a concoction of milk, sugar, and egg yolk. Its a tasty base for many savoury recipes as well as a topping on many desserts. Commercial custard powder sold in supermarkets is made with cornflour, riboflavin, regular salt, and various flavours.

    Cocoa Powder :
Cocoa powder is primarily used as a flavouring agent in baked goods such as cookies, ice cream, dairy drinks, and cakes. Aside from flavouring, it is also used in the production of coatings for confectioners or frozen desserts. Cocoa powder is also used in the beverage industry, for example, to make chocolate milk.

    Chocolate Chips :
Chocolate chips, also known as chocolate morsels, are small chunks of sweetened chocolate that are used as an ingredient in a variety of desserts, trail mix, and, less frequently, some breakfast foods such as pancakes.

How to Make Chocolate Custard Pudding

    1. Take custard powder, cocoa powder in a bowl and add in ¼ cup of milk and mix well. Set aside.

    4. Spoon this into individual bowl and Top with the remaining whipped cream and sprinkle with the chocolate chips.

    6. Slice and serve.
