    Pottukadalai Chutney

Gram dal is a yellow lentil that is rounded on one side and flat on the other. It is closely linked to chickpeas. Gram dal is one of the first legumes to be cultivated. B-complex vitamins, which play a significant role in glucose metabolism and are necessary for your body to stay active and energetic, are abundant in Gram dal. Its also good for the heart because its high in antioxidants and helps to keep
the organ healthy by reducing inflammation.

Coconut chutney takes place in our breakfast menu quite often, since hubby loves it so much. I make quite a few variations to it..Check out my coconut coriander chutney, coconut chilli chutney, coconut garlic chutney and my keralan style coconut chutney. You can also check out my coconut malli thogayal too..

This version is a white coconut chutney. I will share a recipe of getti chutney soon which they serve with set dosa or bhajji bonda..It is a slight variation from this.

    Ingredients for Roasted Gram Chutney

Fresh Coconut  : Fresh Coconut is rich in several important minerals, especially manganese and copper. While manganese supports enzyme function and fat metabolism, copper assists bone formation and heart health.

Roasted Gram Dal / Pori Kadalai / Pottu Kadalai : Roasted gram/pottukadalai is loaded with protein and fiber, it is healthy to include it in the regular diet and ideal for weight loss as it is also low in calories.

Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu: When boiled, the dal has an unusual mucilaginous texture. It tempts the Aroma of the Chutney

You can eat coconut chutney with idli, dosa, vada, poori, Pongal, upma, bonda, goli baji, roti, chapatti, uttapam
