    This is my little ones favourite. I make this often for her lunch and she loves it. I thought of sharing it with you because many of you have been asking me the recipe when i shared it in my instagram, BTW if you are not following me on instagram, i think you have to follow

    The key to make a tasty and kids friendly curd rice or yogurt rice is to add less yogurt and more milk which makes it more tasty.

    Preparation Time : 5 mins
    Cooking Time : 20 to 30 mins
    Serves : 3 to 4

    Ingredients:

    Rice - ½ cup 
    Water - 2 to 2.5 cups 
    Milk - 1 cup or as needed
    Curd / Yogurt - 1.5 tblspn
    Salt to taste
    Sugar - 1 tsp

    For Seasoning:
    Ghee -  1 tblspn
    Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
    Urad Dal / Ulundu paruppu - 1 tsp
    Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - ¼ tsp
    Carrot - 1 medium size grated

    Method:

    Take rice in a pressure cooker and add water to it. Cook it for 4 to 5 whistle. Simmer for 10 mins.  Switch off the heat and let the pressure go all by itself. Open and mash it up.

    Now add salt to it and mix well.Add in yogurt and milk and mix well. Add in sugar and mix well

    Now make tempering. Heat ghee in a frying pan heat it up. Add in mustard, urad dal and asafoetida. Fry it for 30 sec.

    Add in grated carrots. Saute for 1 min or so.

    Pour this over the rice and mix well.

    Enjoy it yourself or serve your lil one..

    I cooked some rice...I use 4 parts water for 1 part rice..you can add more water if you want it so mushy.

    now add in already boiled cooled milk

    I also add little sugar..you have to try this tip, it makes curd rice taste so delicious and your kids will love it..

    Let them mix

    Add in grated carrots..use a fine grate to do this

    Transfer this to your kids favourite bowl

      hi..i am a big fan of you blog..you are doing great work..

      but can you alter using sugar to jaggery ..as most of studies show sugar is cause of all health issues.
      since many people are seeing and follow your recipes...it will even help them to change the way they cook.
