Preparation Time : 5 mins
Sprouting Time : 7 to 8 days

Organic Green Gram / Moong Bean - 1/2 cup

Wash and soak moong bean in water overnight. Drain them.

Line a sieve with clean cloth and put the moong bean on it in a single layer.

Now take a large container, place a small bowl in the bottom and place this sieve into the container. Cover with another cloth and put a lid partially covered. Let it sprout overnight.

Next day wash it well and put it again in the container.

Keep doing this for 7 to 8 days untill the moong beans are nicely grown.

Now remove it from the cloth and remove the roots and leaves and use.

1)Washing moong bean daily is much. If you can wash in the morning and evening.

  1. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. Such a lengthy procedure.

If anyone reads this post, they will conclude that they rather buy the sprouts than take the pain to grow them at home.

I just wash and soak the lentils for 8 to 10 hours, drain all the water out and leave them in the same dish. I then cover it with a lid and keep it in a warm place. The sprouts are ready the next day only. You also try it this way and see the results.

  2. Mr Anonymous no 1 obviously u like an it's butsy sprout and Thank Gix you can at least manage that ..phew(
, ( wiping the sweat of my brow) now go for a walk on the mountains and let my friend educate the educattable and show us some amazing sprouts .

  3. Vow! I had always seen them at the market. But never bought them for hygiene matters. Now I will definitely try this method. They will be good in noodles or also salad s and stir fries. Thank you very much.
