Simple & Easy Oats Cake Recipe



I love adding oats in my baked goodies, i made so many version of oats baked recipe before. This is my latest addition, i wanted to bake a plain ol simple oats cake squares which can be served with a cup of tea or coffee and this is perfect.


Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..


Preparation Time : 10 mins
Resting Time : 30 mins
Baking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Makes : 6 to 8 squares

Ingredients:

All Purpose Flour / Maida - 3/4 cup / 90 grams

Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - a pinch
Cinnamon Powder - 1/4 tsp
Unsalted Butter - 4 tblspn
Sugar - 1/2 cup / 100 grams
Vanilla Essence -  1 tsp
Egg - 1 
Nuts - 1/4 cup / 40 grams
Instant Cooking Oats - 1/2 cup / 45 grams
Milk - 1/2 cup / 120 ml

(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)


Method:


Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Take a square cake pan and grease with oil and dust it with flour, coat it on all sides, Tap off the excess and set aside,


Bring milk to a boil. Pour this over the oats and mix well. Set aside for 30 mins. 


Sieve flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon well and set aside.


Dust nuts with a tsp of flour and set aside.


Take butter in a bowl, add in sugar and whisk it well,


Add in egg, vanilla and oats and mix well.


Now add in the flour mix in and fold gently.


Add in the nuts and fold gently.


Spoon this into the pan and bake for 25 to 35 mins


Remove it and cool it down. Cut it into squares and serve.

Take all your ingredients


grease a pan with oil and dust it with flour
Bring milk to a boil


pour hot milk over oats and set aside for 30 mins


mix well and set aside for 30 mins


this is how it looks after 30 mins


i had a packet of mixed nuts and dried fruits..so i took some in a bowl


sprinkled a tsp of flour over it


toss well and set aside


take flour in a sifter
Add in cinnamon and salt


add in baking powder


Sieve it well
Take soft unsalted butter in a bowl


Add in sugar


use a whisk to whip it up


add in an egg


whisk it well


add in vanilla essence


whisk till creamy


add in the oats milk mix


whisk again


add in the sifted flour mix in


fold gently


now it is mixed up


add in nuts


mix gently


spoon this into the prepared pan


bake till done.cool it and cut a square


Serve

  10. Hi aarthi, ur cake looks awesome!! Mine was not rising n color was not Juz brown as urs😔, where would I have missed the step? I use convection oven 180c for 35 mins
