Chicken lollipop, me and my hubby’s favorite appetizer to order whenever we drop by any restaurant. I make it occasionally at home, because i dont find chicken lollipop often in the frozen section. This recipe is a restaurant style one, i already posted a sauce coated chicken lollipop already in this blog years back. If you are checking excuse me for the blurry image.
Couple days back, i bought a packet of lollipop. I told my sister about that, immediately she wanted me to make lollipop. I tried making it little differently like restaurant style and it was amazing..So juicy and tasty..I hope you will love it and let me know how it turns out..
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Marinating Time : 30 mins
Cooking Time : 15 to 20 mins
Serves : 2 to 3
Ingredients:
Chicken Lollipop – 12 pieces
Oil for Deep Frying
For Marination:
Red Chilli Paste – 1 tblspn ( I ground 3 dry red chillies with water)
Ginger Paste – 1 tblspn
Garlic Paste – 1 tblspn
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Soya Sauce – 1 tblspn
White Vinegar – 1 tblspn
Tomato ketchup – 3 tblspn
Cornflour / Cornstarch – 3 tblspn
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 3 tblspn
Ajinomoto a pinch (optional)
Method:
Mix chicken lollipop with all the marinating ingredients except cornflour and maida.. Keep aside for 30 mins.
Now add in cornflour and maida. Mix well.
Heat oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, Drop chicken in hot oil, simmer the flame and cook on low heat for 10 mins till the chicken is cooked, Now increase the heat and fry the chicken on high heat for 5 mins or till the chicken get crispy and cooked.

Hi Aarthi..
This is perfect recipe i got till this day for chicken lollipop.
I tried with same proportions of all the ingredients and they came out Well..
However…the slight issue was that the flour(maida and corn) dint get stick to the chicken totally…i mean…when they were left to get fry….the flour was coming out partially from the chicken.
How can I avoid this and make sure the flour ( maida and corn) doesnt come out while frying..
please give some advice on this.
Thank you Aarthi
!!
@MadhuriU have to fry these in rhigh heat. if ur oil temp is not correct then the masala will come out.
Mouth watering recipie.. m gonna try it today 🙂
Fusion cuisine idea : make with chicken wings as chicken lollipop is not available in USA. Or use chicken legs.
@AnonymousU can use any of the both. they work great

Yummyyyyy…..
Made this on Rakhi this year. Came out even better than restaurant. My entire family loved it. Thanks a lot Aarthi!!
Hi can v marinate…keep in fridge later can deep fry after 5-6 hours
@sanyes u can..
Why my chicken pakodi is becoming very hard. Even if it is for chilly chicken also
. Whats going wrong.
@Lokesh vamseedhar reddyit is all because of frying..U have to start frying in a high temp, so it seals the masala..Now lower the flame and cook on a low flame. This will make the chicken soft
It was exactly like restaurant style 😊. Thanks
Lollipops turned out even better than restaurant ones. My family has become a fan of it. All thanks to you.
At what Tempature should oil be for frying chciken ? also how long to fry chicken for?
@Nareshnot sure about the temp, but the heat should be medium high and it will take around 6 to 8 mins for the chicken to cooked..test a chicken whether it is dont or not
Can we use rice flour instead of corn flour???
@Sukanyayes u can
