This recipe is from my favourite christmas cookbook from nigella lawson..I was eyeing on this recipe for quite a long time and finally i get a change to make it..I should have shared it before christmas but i couldn’t find anytime to share, so sharing it now..
This is a shortbread like chocolate cookies which is glazed with a dark chocolate glaze. The cookies are little low on sweet on itself, but when the glaze is poured and topped with sprinkles it taste yum..I actually made this batch of cookies for my little niece.
Hope you will like it and let me know how it turns out for you..
Preparation Time : 15 mins
Baking Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 5 mins
Makes : 12 to 14 cookies
Recipe Source: Nigella lawson

Ingredients:

For Cookies:
Soft Unsalted Butter – 125 grams
Sugar – 1/2 cup powdered
Cocoa – 1/4 cup
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1 cup / 120 grams
Baking Soda – 1/4 tsp
Baking Powder – 1/2 tsp
Vanilla Essence – 1/2 tsp

For Chocolate Glaze:
Confectioners Sugar / Icing Sugar – 1/2 cup
Cocoa Powder – 1 tblspn
Boiling Water – 2 tblspn
Vanilla Essence – 1/2 tsp
Sprinkles as needed

Method:
Preheat oven to 170 Degree C. Line a baking sheet with parchment and set aside.
Now take butter, sugar, vanilla in a bowl and cream well.
Add in cocoa powder and cream again. Add in flour, baking soda and baking powder and mix well to form a dough.
Take a portion of dough and shape it into balls.
Arrange it in a baking tray and flatten it slightly.
Bake this in oven for 15 mins. Remove it from oven and let it cool on the tray for 15 mins..Because it will get hard as it cools
While the cookies are cooling, make icing. Take everything except sprinkles in a sauce pan and heat till it is melted. Remove it from heat and cool it slightly.
Now pour this over the cookies and top with sprinkles.
Let this set for 2 hours. Now store this in air tight container.

I can vouch that this is the ABSOLUTE best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever. I added toffee bar bits as well as chocolate chips. These were a hit at our house. Thanks for the recipe!
