Eggless Vanilla Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting - Vanilla Cake using Condensed Milk

There are so many eggless substitute for cakes..You can use yogurt, silken tofu, banana, apple sauce and many other things. Sweetened condensed milk is one of the main substitute, this is the first cake which i made using that and it turned out really good..

The cake is so simple to make and very easy to make. It is made using basic ingredients which you might already have on hand. You can add some tutti frutti, chocolate chips, nuts or anything as you like.

Baking Time : 25 mins
Makes : 9 to 10 slices

All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 cup / 120 grams

Cornflour / Cornstarch - 3 tblspn
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda - 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Salt a pinch
Melted Butter or Oil - 1/4 cup / 60 ml
Sweetened Condensed Milk - 3/4 cup / 220 grams
Water - 1/2 cup / 120 ml
White Vinegar - 1 tblspn
Vanilla Essence - 1 tblspn
Peanut Butter Frosting - 1 batch (Recipe here)
Sprinkles as needed


Preheat oven to 180 degree C.

Line 20 cm square baking pan with parchment paper. Grease it well with oil and set aside.

Take flour, cornflour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and mix well.

Take oil, condensed milk, vinegar, vanilla, water and mix well.

Add in the flour and fold well.

Spoon this into the baking pan and bake for 20 to 25 mins or untill a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Remove it from oven and set aside to cool down. Peel off the paper and set aside to cool.

Spread out peanut butter frosting and top with sprinkles. 

Cut and serve.

Take all your ingredients
Line a square baking pan with parchment and oil it well
Take flour in a bowl

add in cornflour

add in salt

add in baking powder and baking soda

mix well and set aside
Add in oil

add in condensed milk

pour it in

add in water

add in vinegar

add in vanilla essence

mix well

add in flour mix

mix gently

fold gently

spoon this in baking pan

now bake till done

all baked

remove it and cool it completely

Spoon the frosting over the cake

Spread it out
Top with sprinkles 

Cut into slices

    1. Cornflour / Cornstarch
    2. Adding both Baking Soda / Cooking Soda and Baking Powder. Whats the difference between the two.
    3. Purpose of White Vinegar

  4. Aarthi... I am regular reader of your blog from Nagercoil. From which shop did you buy sprinkles, chocolate chips and the other stuff for cakes from Nagercoil??


    1)Cornflour makes the cake more soft.
    2)Baking soda and powder are diff,they make cake soft and fluffy and rise.
    3)Vinegar acts with baking soda and make the cake soft, vinegar can be sub with lemon juice

  6. @saraYes u can make this with wheat flour, yes u can make other cakes with wheat flour as well. But it will be little denser

  9. You have not specified the temperature, what is it? My cake was done outside but not inside why is it so what should I do?
