Mint Rice Recipe
Fresh Mint is my favourite flavouring to food. They somehow make food so fresh and flavourful.Talking about flavours, these rice is packed with lots of flavours and this is one of my favourite. I made a mint masala paste and mixed it with rice. The tempering which goes in this paste makes the difference. They make this rice unique and flavourful.
How to Make Mint Rice Recipe (Pudina Rice)
- Grind all the ingredients given in the list to a fine paste. Set this aside.
- Heat ghee in a pan. Add all the ingredients given in the list in the given order and sauté for a min till they turn golden.
- Add the ground masala and mix well. Cook till oil separates. It will take around 10 mins. Add sugar and mix well. Mint Rice Paste is done.
- Add in cooked rice and mix well. Saute for 2 mins.
- Serve immediately.

Ingredients
- Rice – 3 cups Cooked and Cooled
- For Grinding:
- Mint Leaves / Pudhina – 2 cup tightly packed
- Coconut – ½ cup
- Garlic – 5 cloves
- Green Chilli – 3
- Salt to taste
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- For Tempering:
- Ghee – 3 tblspn
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
- Channa Dal / Kadala Paruppu – 1 tblspn
- Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1 tblspn
- Cashew – 10 piece
- Cinnamon / Pattai – 1 small stick
- Cardamom / Yelakai – 4
- Bay Leaf / Brinji ilai – 1
Instructions
- Grind all the ingredients given in the list to a fine paste. Set this aside.

take the grinding ingredients in a blender |
and make into a puree |
