French Yogurt Cake Recipe - Simple Tutti Fruity Loaf Cake Recipe

You all know that i love baking cakes. Even though i bake complicated and tricky fun cakes occasionally. Most of the time i go for simple tea time cakes. Not only they are easy to make, but they taste really great with a cup of tea or milk.

This is one cake which some of my viewer have been asking me to bake. i have a eggless version of tutti frity cake recipe in my blog. Some of them wanted a version with eggs. So i decided to make one. 

Couple days back i had a container of thick yogurt which urged me to try a yogurt cake with it. So i refered google and found a pretty simple recipe. I took that recipe and added some tutti fruity to it. It turned out super tasty..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 50 to 55 mins
Makes : 8 to 10 slices

All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 1/2 cup / 180 grams + 2 tsp

Baking Powder - 2 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Cooking Oil - 1/2 cup / 120 ml
Curd / Yogurt - 3/4 cup / 180 ml
Sugar - 1 cup / 200 grams
Eggs - 2
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Tutti Fruity - 1/3 cup (Optional)

(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)


Preheat oven to 170 Degree C. Take a loaf pan and grease it with oil. Dust with flour generously and coat on all sides. Tap off the excess and set aside.

Take oil, curd, salt, sugar, vanilla, egg  in a bowl and use a whisk to mix well.

Add in flour and baking powder and mix gently. Dont over whip it.

Add in tutti fruity mix and fold gently.

Pour this into the mould and bake for 50 to 55 mins.

Remove it from oven and let it cool for 15 mins. now unmould it and cool completely. Slice and serve.

For easy and clean slicing. Chill the cooled cake for 30 mins to 1 hour before slicing.


Take all your ingredients

Grease a loaf pan with oil and dust it with flour generously

Take some tutti fruity in a bowl

sprinkle with 2 tsp of flour

toss well and set aside

Now in a mixing bowl, take oil

add in thick yogurt

add in sugar

add in little salt

and some vanilla essence..i used my homemade vanilla bean paste..Recipe here

crack open 2 eggs

use a whisk to whip this up

just mix it little, dont need to whip so much..

now add in flour

and some baking powder

Slowly whisk it up

now it is combined..dont over mix it

add in tutti fruity

fold gently

pour the batter into the prepared pan

time to bake them

bake till done

let it cool down, then slice them

Enjoy with a cup of chai or milk

  4. @Anonymousyes u can bake it in pressure cooker, yes it will vary a little so adjust accordingly

  7. Hi Aarthi,Can i bake it at 180Deg? or 160 deg..dont have 170.Pl suggest

    I am a very very very big fan of you. I wish you all the very best in your future. I have a question, if we want to make double the quantity of french yogurt cake, can we bake it in 8/8 inches pan or other big baking pan and do we need to maintain same temperature for same time or more?

    1. yes u can use melted butter, use same amount
