Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaviti is a popular hindu festival celebrating the arrival of Lord Ganesh to earth from Kailash Parvat with his mother Goddess Parvati.
The festival starts when we bring Lord Ganesh's clay statue or murti to home for and chanting, prayers and fasting.
We perform Offerings and prasāda daily and we distribute prasadam to friends and families which include sweets such as modaka to be a favourite of Lord Ganesh.
The festival ends on the tenth day when we carry idol in a public festive kind of oorvalam and is immerse in running active lake or sea. This is the traditional method we follow to celebrate this occasion.
The festival celebrates Lord Ganesh as the God of New Beginnings and to bring joy to family.
