Yesterday when i was organising my pantry shelf, i found a can of Del Monte's Red Cherries. I thought of make a panna cotta using that, but i want something lighter to go with that, so i made a vanilla based pudding and poured it over the cherry pudding. And as a surprise it both went so well together..
Del Monte Cherries are great for this, because of the lovely colour it provides to the pudding. This cherries has its own flavour and taste to it...
I made this specially for The Del Monte Blogger Recipe Carnival by Indi blogger. You can read more about their products and stuffs by clicking here.. I hope you will love this as much I did and tell me how it turned out for you.
Ingredients:
Del Monte Canned Red Cherry- 1 cup
Gelatin - 2 tblspn
Heavy Cream –1 ½ cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Vanilla – 1 tblspn
Water – 1 cup
Pista – 3 tblspn chopped for garnishing
Method:
Soak gelatin in 1 cup of water for 5 mins. Heat it gently on medium flame stirring often till everything is dissolved. Remove and set aside.
Take cherry in a blender. Add sugar and ½ cup of cream and make into a fine puree. Now add ½ cup of gelatin in this and blend it well.
Pour this over the mould till half way and keep in the fridge for 30 mins till it is set.
Now make the vanilla pudding. Take cream, sugar and vanilla in a sauce pan and heat it up. Now Add the remaining ½ cup of gelatin mixture and mix well.
Pour this over the cherry pudding and keep it in the fridge for 2 hours.
When it is set use a knife to leave the sides and unmould it carefully.

I recently went on a trip to Disney World and at the Animal Kingdom Lodge's restaurant, Boma, in the dessert section of their buffet I tried panna cotta for the first time. It was a passion fruit flavor. It was amazing. I would have never thought to make my own until now. You make it look so easy. Can't wait to try this flavor as well as others. Yummy!
