When i wrote a status update in my facebook wall asking my viewers, do you need any special recipes for diwali which i want to make and post in my blog, i received so many recipe request. One of that recipe is horlicks and bournvita barfi.. Believe it or not i made both of them immediately and it turned out great.
I have posted so many barfi recipes in my blog. So try this out and let me know how it turned out..

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 20 to 25 mins
Makes : 10 to 12 pieces

Ingredients:
Gram Flour / Besan / Kadalai Mavu – 3/4 cup
Horlicks – 1/4 cup
Ghee – 1/4 cup
Oil – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 3/4 cup
Water – 1/4 cup

Method:
Heat a non stick pan with 1 tsp ghee, once it is hot add in gram flour and roast it for 2 mins. Once it is roasted transfer it to a sieve and sieve it. Now add in horlicks and mix well.
In the same pan, take sugar and add in water, mix well so the sugar is melted, now bring this to a boil and cook till 1 string consistency is reached.
Once it reaches one string consistency, add in besan mix slowly and mix so no lumps are formed.
Now add in ghee and oil slowly and keep mixing on medium heat. Cook till the mix leaves the sides of the pan.
Pour this into greased tray and let it cool down.
Once cooled cut it into squares.

@Suhana Ahmedif you take the spoon from the syrup, the last drop falling from the spoon forms a string like syrup.
